  • If your looking for a nice and quiet walk, this is it. The trails are easy to walk, the views are worth the time. Be sure to take a camera, numerous breathtaking views.
  • This is the best spot for hiking in Lexington. It can get busy on weekends, but if you can get there during the week, it is quite peaceful. Easy trails to more difficult ones. Beautiful views and a wa...  more »

  • Variety of trails & beautiful views. Easy to challenging trails, in the woods, streamside & hilly, cliff overlook of KY River, woodland trails, meadow trails. Steep trails, flat trails & in-between. Great place for families. Has nature center also, w/knowledgeable people to answer questions.
  • Always love visiting here. Alone to jog the trails or hike with my kids. Just far out enough to enjoy a good natural terrain but not a huge commute from everything Lexington has to offer
  • The paths do seem perpetually muddy after a good rain, bear this in mind when visiting. The trails offer different difficulty levels but overall is moderate in skill level required. There is a good deal of educational information at the entrance and in the Nature Center. Closes in mid-afternoon.
  • Best hiking spot close to Lexington. Wonderful city-owned park, good trails, well maintained. My favorite spot to slip away to when time allows. Great overlook of the Kentucky River.
  • If you're looking for a local place to come spend a few hours, or an entire day, THIS is the place. There are over 10 miles of trails, that are easy enough for the casual walker, to some tougher terrain for more serious trail explorers. Throughout this sanctuary, there are multiple areas that are great for stopping to take in the views, rest, or just decide to take another trail (to make your day longer or shorter). It is always very clean, and well maintained. Best of all, it's FREE! Get out there, get some fresh air, some exercise, and enjoy the some unspoiled nature!
