  • Me and my family visited the Explorium in Lexington, KY at Victorian Square in September 2016. I was very disappointed in this visit. This is our 3rd time at this facility. There were many exhibits th...  read more »

  • My daughter and nephew had a blast here! I hadn't been since I was a child, and unfortunately, there were still several things from my childhood and they weren't very clean. However, there were some n...  read more »
  • Very disappointed!!!! We are from Tennessee and brought our 3 & 4 year old to Kentucky. We decided on our way out to make a stop in the Explorium to let the kids play, since most of our trip was spent in a room or in the hospital. The very first thing we stopped at in the explorium (the little aquarium) was broke, the next thing the horse measure thing was also messed up. Then we got to what would have been our kids favorite part; the water. No absolutely just no!! It was disgusting, nasty and barely had any water in it. Where we live we have a Creative discovery museum in Chattanooga about 1 hour from our house. Which we usually go to. For what we paid for 4 people to get into the explorium we could add about $35 more to it and get a year membership to our discovery museum. I read the reviews on this place before we went but thought maybe they've fixed the issues. They haven't which is sad it has a lot of potential. But for us we decided not to waste our time nor our money and asked for a refund. Which they were ify on giving us, even though Wed only been in there maybe 8 minutes. The parking also sucks. My suggestion don't wasteyour time trying to park and then wwalking to this place and then waste your money in there it definitely is not worth it!
  • Great for my toddler. It had a cleaner smell but better that than - let's face it - urine. Fun for me too!
  • The Explorium could be a phenomenal place to visit and take your kids to, unfortunately it is not kept up. Lots of the displays are really old, the "live" exhibits of spiders and roaches are not alive at all. It's too bad because I live the idea of a science museum for kids . on a more positive note, the staff is nice.
  • Took my child March of 2016 with expectations from my childhood memories. VERY DISAPPOINTED. The exhibits that I remembered and enjoyed the most as a kid were still there, but many things were BROKEN and therefore rendering the exhibit useless. I also found a door that appeared to be part of an exhibit but discovered that it was really an unmarked 'staff only' area because it was pipes, etc. Quite surprised that someone would be neglectful of leaving an unsafe area open. An adult could have opened it by mistake, but it's not that hard to put a lock on it....
  • It's great to have a place like this in Lex! We've gone several times and always enjoy ourselves. Parking can be a hassle and hours of operation are slightly inconvenient but the kiddos will have a blast exploring their many displays.
