  • You can easily see the park in half a day. There are quite a few hiking trails, all of different levels for different hiking abilities. There's paddle boats in the summer on the lake, or take your own kayaks. A beautiful waterfall close to the lake but to get to the bottom, ensure you can stretch a bit & still be steady. Park is free admission which is awesome! There are camp sites available if you want to camp. Restaurant on site as well. Great place to spend the day or half a day, depending on your preference.
  • One of the best full hook up parks I've stayed in. Friendly staff, well maintained spacious campground, beautiful trails. Restrooms, picnic tables and dump station. Everything you need within walking distance and so much history and scenery. Paid $28-$36 30amp and water.
  • One of the cleanest campgrounds I ever visited. Peace & Quiet. The sites are awesome. Plenty of room. Camped there 2 nights. Had a great time. Restrooms and showers are clean. Can't wait to return.
  • This was a really nice state park I enjoyed the 2 days that I was here I made my reservation online and didn't have any issues finding the campsite. I chose a campsite that was located directly next to the showers and the bathrooms once I took my shower the shower was made very inconveniently for a short person and I myself in 5 2". The water was kind of warm but not as warm as I would like it and I took a shower very quickly because tbecause the angle of the shower could not be changed. The bathrooms are located on the other side of where the showers are. The nature at this park was really nice the campsites were built very well and the leveled also. The campsites for tent camping are mixed in along with the site for trailer are trailers and campers. The pool for this park is going to be closing because the usage was down but the grounds are very nice and beautiful the cabins at this park don't really don't resemble cabins at all they resemble small apartments but they are nice as well they are located around the lake. We did go fishing in the lake but didn't catch anything. We were here in March and search and I don't believe that the restaurant was open we didn't get out to see but there were no cars there. This park is located very close proximity to anything that you would need or that you have forgotten my phone also works here in the park which was a plus. Overall I will say that I do like this state park the only complaint that I had was the shower. PS There is an archery 🏹 range as well!
  • What a lovely state park! We camped, did two hikes and one of the programs. The camping site was great, creekside, with a flat area for the tent, picnic table and fire pit. The Shoal Creek hike is wonderful and an easy out and back with just a short uphill portion. The turkey ridge trail is okay. The first portion you can hear/see the road. The middle is lovely and then the last half mile or so is along the road. My only complaint/suggestion would be to update the description of the space/planet viewing activity. It is a kid focused program on the distance between planets. We were not able to actually view any planets (though that may vary based on time of year)
