Welcome to Las Vegas Sign, Las Vegas
(4.2/5 based on 2,000+ reviews on the web)
The iconic Welcome to Las Vegas Sign represents a popular photo-op for tourists visiting Sin City. Designed by Betty Willis, the sign was erected at the south end of the world-renowned strip in 1959 to encourage tourists to visit. It seems the 7.6 m (25 ft) tall sign has been a success--today it attracts several hundred visitors a day eager to get their photo with the landmark. Best accessed by car, the sign stands at the side of the highway and features a small parking lot for visitors. You'll find an attendant on-site to corral the line of visitors who will take your picture for a small tip. A visit to Welcome to Las Vegas Sign represents just the start of the adventure when you use our Las Vegas vacation route planner to plot your vacation.

  • Everyone wants a picture with this sign, the best time when it is not too crowded is around 6-7 pm and that is also when the elvis impersonators come out to take pictures with you for 5 bucks.
  • Welcome to las Vegas sign is, it is far from everything, I recommend going by taxi or car and visit it on the day, as photos at night don't you have if not the sign the person is not. Not be by it will be so visited.

  • This is sort of iconic i guess to do and say you got your pic by the sign. There was a line that took a little while to get thru with people waiting to get their pics as well. Would be good if someone...  more »

  • Is a must if you go to Vegas. It was full of people, as one could expect. Even a big group from a Wedding, that was hilarious to watch.
  • You will spend a lot of money in Vegas. This is the best memory you will own subsequent to your visit. Do it FIRST! Regardless of what happens next.... the photo's you take here will be the beginning of your Vegas story. What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.
  • The Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Sign is the door way to the Entertainment Capital of the World. From its creation in 1959 to this very day it is one the most photographed places in the world. If only it could talk, the stories that it could tell. It has seen countless political officials, to movie stars, and people from every corner of the earth. It's iconic symbol is free for anyone to use because the creator Betty Willis as a gift to the world never trade marked or copy righted it. On your next trip to Las Vegas make sure to stop and get your picture taken at the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Sign because it will be one of the best souvenirs you can get to remember your trip.
  • A must do when in Vegas. It makes for such an iconic picture. Take refreshments and prepare to queue during peak times. There is little shade so in the summer months it can be very hot waiting to get to the front and centre to take the best picture.
  • It has its own little parking area and there are private photographers there to take pics for you plus quite a few costume characters there to make it fun and entertaining and pose in pics if you want
