Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas, Las Vegas

(3,000+ reviews on the web)
Landmark Tourist Spot
The iconic Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas represents a popular photo-op for tourists visiting Sin City. Designed by Betty Willis, the sign was erected at the south end of the world-renowned strip in 1959 to encourage tourists to visit. It seems the 7.6 m (25 ft) tall sign has been a success--today it attracts several hundred visitors a day eager to get their photo with the landmark. Best accessed by car, the sign stands at the side of the highway and features a small parking lot for visitors. You'll find an attendantĀ on-site to corral the line of visitors who will take your picture for a small tip. A visit to Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas represents just the start of the adventure when you use our Las Vegas vacation route planner to plot your vacation.

  • A must see and get your photo taken, it's just at the end of the strip. It's always busy but the line goes fast. You can get there by just taking the strip bus.  more »
  • This is one of those places that creates a incredibly long lasting memory for all involved. One look at the photo takes you back to the moment every time. Totally worth it.  more »

  • The trick seems to be to get there at 5:30am literally as the sun rises. Beautiful lighting first of all but we were also literally the only people there until maybe 6am when another car showed up. Fun to take some pictures but at the end of the day it is really just a sign. Oh and there are signs right there saying there there are no official photographers for that sign. It's just some opportunists. Good for them if you suck at photography and you trust them and don't mind spending money for something your cell phone can do.
  • There is a man there that's loves photography he'll take a pic with you and your group for free - tips appreciated. He's nice and never demands anything nor looks down on you if you rather not tip.
  • Excellent time for friends, family and fans at the NFL Raiders Draft pick Saturday at the Fabulous Welcome to Las Vegas sign. We had a blast all day with Clark County Commissioner Steve Sisolak, Governor Brian Sandoval, Raiders President, Steve Hill from the Stadium Authority and the fans were cheering. Visitors coming to Las Vegas were very excited. Only in the Entertainment Capital of the World can you have such fun each and every day.
  • Get there early or you'll be waiting in a line to get a photo front and center. The line moves reasonably quick though. Plenty of easily accessible parking. There was a friendly man there taking photos for everyone!
  • If you feel the need to take a photo in front of the iconic and historic Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign, then stop by and wait your turn in line for a photo op. It sits in the middle of Las Vegas Blvd, but there is a parking lot next to it in the median, and also a cross-walk on the east side of Las Vegas Blvd so if you're walking you can get there safer, as the traffic moves fast. Just don't forget to lock your car and keep things out of sight, as there are signs warning you. Apparently since it's such a high tourist attraction it attracts thieves.
