  • The remodel went well. This is a fun casino with good drink service. Be sure to sign up for the players card. Free shuttle to the M Resort from the Tropicana. Very friendly dealers and staff. Free par...  more »
  • Used to be fresh and vibrant but it's not maintained and loved anymore, it's a shame owners let it run down  more »
  • Maybe we just found a little luck but the slots seemed to be easier. One of the older casinos on the strip, it has been nicely renovated since we last visited. Staff was exceptionally nice too.  more »

  • I'm so pleasantly surprised at the state of repair in this hotel. I don't normally stay at this end of the strip but had specific requirements on a short trip so proximity was important. The hotel is large and spacious and the pool area looks great, and nicely zoned and divided up to have some character about it. What really made this stay for me, was the amazing suite I stayed in, which was amongst the best rooms I've stayed at in Vegas, let alone globally. The suite comprised of a large hall with W/C opening into a large open plan dining room, lounge and kitchen with bar. This was a very large room. Then on into the bedroom via double doors, another large room with king sized bed, jacuzzi and a separate lounge area. Perhaps the highlight of the suite if I had to choose, was the large seated shower room, sauna, and dressing area. The Tropicana comes in at a mid range price in Las Vegas and for a room like this, it's smart money.
  • Room is spacious and comfortable but there doesn't seem to be a fan in the bathroom for venting shower steam. The bathroom lighting is also a little too dim for my preference. Full size mirrors on closet doors are helpful when getting ready to go out. Brought water bottles from home with the expectation of having a mini fridge in the room (common in all hotels I have stayed at in the last few years); no fridge in the room but very easy access to ice machine. Very quiet room considering proximity to so much going on.
  • Let's start with the good: The staff was warm, welcoming and helpful. Not good: It's just an old hotel and despite attempts to update it, you can see the age. Even in the "club tower" that was supposed to be nicer, the age is apparent, you can see where they have painted over old stuff, the electrical outlets are loose or hanging out from the wall. Under the bathroom counter, there was a gum wrapper and a cover to a razor. The shower had hair in it when I got there. There are better choices than this hotel.
  • Tired oh so very tired..... I bet this place was great and swanky in its day. Unfortunately that time has passed and the current caretakers appear to be lazy. Painted over bamboo trim and dead decor don't really hit you until you visit the neighboring properties. Best thing about the Tropicana is how close it is to New York New York. At least there you have some food choices and real bars. The staff at reception are in old outfits that are stained and dirty. If you stay here just take a look at the coat cuff of the people checking you in. It will set the tone and should set your expectations... made me sad and even more to know this is a Doubletree. Don't get me wrong older places are great when they are cared for. Plenty of examples all over Florida.
  • Amazing hospitality!! We showed up 6 hours early and the woman at the desk (name starts with an m, Milanu is probably not it, black hair with bleached tips) was able to get us an upgraded room, she brought a fridge to our room when I told her I was worried about a bottle of champagne in our car, and called after we got into our room to make sure everything was perfect. My run-in with other staff has been exceptionally as well. Maintenance and cleaning staff holding the elevator door for me, cocktail waitresses complimenting and being sweet even though I'm not buying drinks - love the professionalism of all the staff!! I work in hospitality and am usually disappointed with the staff lack of it, bit not here 💛💛💛
