Where to stay in Las Vegas

Most Las Vegas hotels increase their room rates on the weekends, so if you have a flexible schedule, avoid Fridays and Saturdays and take advantage of package deals that include shows, meals, and gambling coupons. Remember also that if you stay at any one of the lively casino hotels, you may not be able to get a good night's sleep for the duration of your trip. If you come to Vegas to stay but not necessarily play, try one of the non-gaming hotels or explore the quieter areas surrounding the city.

  • Town Square is one of places I like to visit whenever we are in Vegas. It is a nice outdoor shopping center with name brand stores and restaurants. It's a nice place to walk around and shop. Although it might not be ideal during the hot summer months. The shopping center is next to McCarran International Airport so you will see planes flying overhead at low altitudes on their landing approach to the airport. It's a great sight to see!
  • Lots of different types of shops from affordable to more luxury. They have a nice grass area to relax on, a train you can have your children ride, and a nice playground with splash pad and an attendant at the gate making sure no kids escape. The only downside to this playground is that it is always so full and crazy! Not somewhere I would come if I was alone with my 3 little ones. I wouldn't be able to keep track of them.
  • Went to a car show. Parking was a bit hairy, but well worth waiting. Have always enjoyed it here - just stay away from the chocolate covered potato chip guy; what a rip-off! $10 for what amounts to a single serve bag of ripple chips thickly coated on one side with cheap chocolate. But you will love the beautiful shops and absolutely amazing outdoor family area. Lovely place to spend the day.
  • Such a great place to shop. Very appealing stores and restaurants. This outdoor shopping center is aesthetically appealing and feels upscale. There is a huge movie theater and a play area with a train ride for the kids. Easy parking. Easy access from I-15 or Las Vegas Blvd.
  • Far from the maddening crowd. A calm place with lovely shops, friendly people and clean soft grass areas. A great place to take the youngsters who want to run through the grass bare foot. There's even a free 5min train ride around the shops for toddlers to enjoy.
