Siegfried & Roy's Secret Garden And Dolphin Habitat, Las Vegas

3.3
#4 of 6 in Zoos & Aquariums in Las Vegas
Zoo / Aquarium Nature / Park
Visit Siegfried & Roy's Secret Garden And Dolphin Habitat to see the open-air home of Siegfried & Roy's royal white tigers. The habitat protects these rare animals, because their bright coloring makes camouflage nearly impossible in the wild. Almost all the tigers here descended from the same tiger brought from India. Watch the gorgeous creatures explore the space, which includes a swimming pool with fountains and simulated mountain terrain. Purchase tickets to the habitat at the Mirage. You don't have to be a guest of the resort to get admission. Where to stay in Las Vegas

Most Las Vegas hotels increase their room rates on the weekends, so if you have a flexible schedule, avoid Fridays and Saturdays and take advantage of package deals that include shows, meals, and gambling coupons. Remember also that if you stay at any one of the lively casino hotels, you may not be able to get a good night's sleep for the duration of your trip. If you come to Vegas to stay but not necessarily play, try one of the non-gaming hotels or explore the quieter areas surrounding the city.

  • Terrible for the animals. I almost cried when I was here. And the kids wondered why the poor tigers are here.  more »

  • This place would be a 3 star rating except for the dolphin show. The tigers and other land based animals are neat creatures of course but there wasn't a lot of exhibits and they were all fairly small and almost depressing in the desert heat. Could have just been the time of day. The dolphin show however was pretty cool to watch and I found it particularly fun that I was able to stand only a couple of feet away from the edge of the pool where the trainers were standing with their dolphins to give them commands. They have a "be a trainer for a day" experience which is very expensive but I imagine that if you really love dolphins it would be worth the money for a once in a lifetime experience.
  • This place was very beautiful and had quite a few options for interactive activities with the dolphins. We witnessed a dolphin paint a picture for a little girl, my girlfriend was able to touch and take a photo with a dolphin, and I was able to take awesome pictures of everything there. The big cat area was very cool too, and had the feeling of spiritual calmness all around with the fountain of longevity, the wishing tree, as well as all the statues and plantlife. We also got to meet Siegfried who was really a great guy to be around. He was there allowing people to get photos with him on their phones and cameras. We had a nice conversation with him and he even did a little magic trick for one of us!
  • My kids and I really liked this place. The reason for 4 stars is because there is only the dolphin habitat, 2 leopards, 4 tigers (3 white, 1 black and orange) and 2 lions. We were in and out in about 45 minutes and paid $78 for two adults and two children. But hey, its L.V., the atmosphere was nice and the whites tigers were beautiful.
  • 3 stars because I met Siegfried. Really nice guy. The cats are beautiful and the dolphins are neat. But the price is really high. I've been to full fledged zoos for much less.
  • Wonderful staff that take the time to explain many things. The enclosures appear small but clean. I wonder about the care of the animals. The lion has a large wound at the base of his tail. The large cats have small enclosures. The dolphin exhibit was also rather small for the amount of animals. That's all there is to see at this place. Expensive for what it is.
