Pass through centuries of American history at Pecos National Historic Park. Tour the remains of Indian pueblos, evidence of some 400 years of settlement here by Native Americans, who traded pottery for copper and seashells. Look for the remains of a church built by Spanish explorers, who went on to occupy the area for 200 years. Continue through the park to see the Civil War battlefield where Confederate and Union troops clashed at the Battle of Glorieta Pass. Stop by the visitor's center beforehand to receive maps and a full history on the rich park. Bring plenty of water.   • Pecos Pueblo American Indian Native American lived in the town of Mu Mexico, Santa fe (Santa Fe) Southeast approximately 23 miles by car 30 minutes south of Rotorua (Pecos). As can be seen the remains of indigenous people lived after Pecos National Historical Park (Pecos National Historical Park) open to the public and that! The first visitor center information... was once a fee is admission now! Opening hours 8:00 AM to 4:30 pm yesterday evening it revenge! First thing in the morning came because three of us with chartered status! Out of the visitor's Center, 1周 and all around trail is 1.25 miles(2.0km)! Pueblo tribe lived from around 1300. You can see the ruins were soon in the 1400s, 4.5-story Pueblo-dwelling large 2000 population situated village! Precious places still remain near the Pecos National Historical Park, where the 14th century of the Pecos Pueblo dwelling, built by Spain who mission Church of Fang marks! Kiba's first walking trail, first! Basement is surrounded by rounded walls of religious prayers and other rituals, www.upsold.com "(kivas) Fang" and called! You can down the ladder, get inside! Magnificent views from the wide Earth! Indigenous superceding cotton is life! And Spain and Franciscan priests who built Christian Church in this area has changed their lives!   • Sept 19, 2016 entry was free. Liked the rebuilt underground "Kivas". Interesting history in this place. Sadly Spanish Conquistadors came to this area.
  • Beautiful holy ground. In awe of walking where so many natives to this great land walked! Well worth the time and $7!
