  • This is a review of the casino, not the hotel. The buffet and many restaurants are closed for remodeling. The casino is half closed and boarded up. The Sportsbook is open, as well as the coffee shop L...  more »
  • Stayed and played there a few times last week and wasn't too impressed with the casino itself. Not enough different types of table games in my opinion and a little too snobbish for my taste. Location ...  more »
  • We check in. Prepaid the room. $200 for a Sunday night. Hit with the expected $30 "resort" fee. Just put it in the room price so I don't feel like I was robbed. Bad location off the strip. Ugh. Room s...  more »

  • Nice place. Currently under renovation on the main floor. I am sure it will look great when it is complete. The staff is excellent, friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to make sure I was satisfied and I am extremely picky. I have a gluten, dairy, corn and potato free diet and I had no problem finding plenty of food options here during my 4 day stay.
  • Palms buffet is the best bang for your buck in Vegas. High quality ingredients and always fresh.. doesn't matter what time you go. They don't cut corners on quality.. I recommend over the total reward hotel buffets (i.e. Paris & Planet Hollywood).. much cheaper and higher quality offerings. Only reason it is less known is because it is sort of off the strip. I encourage you to check it out!
  • Some hotels overbook rooms and leave you hanging. The Palms has twice over the years run out of the type of room that I reserved and now twice given me a top quality much more expensive room for the same lower rate. The first time this happened, they traded my standard room for a suite at Palms Place. This time they traded me up to a Penthouse suite with breathtaking views of the city. The only downside is while the suite is spacious there aren't many modern luxuries included. There is however a very comfortable bed and my wife and I don't need to share a bathroom. We could entertain plenty of guests during our stay but have no friends in town this weekend. Overall, the Palms is far enough off the beaten path of the strip to give you a comfortable stay regardless of the circumstances and is my go-to resort for visits to Vegas.
  • I was so surprised when we entered the palms since it looks a little dumpy from the outside. It's beautiful inside! And the rooms are shockingly nicer than anticipated. Although the palms is not directly on the strip, it is close enough. They have a taco shop in their food court which is worth the trip to the palms all on its own. Very nice very large pool. Skip the ghost bar, it's pretty lame by Vegas standards.
  • Been in Vegas for 17 years I watched that casino go up. Probably been there over a hundred times. Concerts, gambling, dinner, and other events. Love the atmosphere it is definitely geared towards a younger crowd. The clubs are great in the pool is great.

Where to stay in Las Vegas

Most Las Vegas hotels increase their room rates on the weekends, so if you have a flexible schedule, avoid Fridays and Saturdays and take advantage of package deals that include shows, meals, and gambling coupons. Remember also that if you stay at any one of the lively casino hotels, you may not be able to get a good night's sleep for the duration of your trip. If you come to Vegas to stay but not necessarily play, try one of the non-gaming hotels or explore the quieter areas surrounding the city.
