MGM Grand, Las Vegas

3.6
#3 of 217 in Nightlife in Las Vegas
Casino Theater
With more than 2,500 gaming machines and 139 poker and table games, MGM Grand features one of the largest gaming floors in all of Las Vegas. If you don't gamble, you can still derive some entertainment simply watching the extravagantly dressed crowd. An onsite food court features many small restaurants. Note that you'll have to do a lot of extra walking due to the casino's grand scale. In case of an event in the arena, be prepared to be stuck in traffic for a while. Where to stay in Las Vegas

Most Las Vegas hotels increase their room rates on the weekends, so if you have a flexible schedule, avoid Fridays and Saturdays and take advantage of package deals that include shows, meals, and gambling coupons. Remember also that if you stay at any one of the lively casino hotels, you may not be able to get a good night's sleep for the duration of your trip. If you come to Vegas to stay but not necessarily play, try one of the non-gaming hotels or explore the quieter areas surrounding the city.

  • Well decorated casino. Great for shows and boxing. Casino is spread out. Too many shops... who goes to Vegas to shop?  more »
  • You'd think a casino this big would have a wider variety of machines to play- not so. There are alot of the same type. Waitress service was also very slow.  more »

  • Great classic Resort with plenty of amenities for adults and kids. Situated on the south end of the strip the MGM stands alone with it's vibrant Green exterior. The rooms have a vintage modern feel that has stood the test of time, but could probably use a little more modern updating. Our room was in the West Wing that dis require quiet a little walk past all the 1st floor rooms to get to our elevator. You do not want a room on the 1st floor of the West Wing, each room gets all the foot traffic to the elevators for floors 2-14.. Flat screens TVs mounted in our room were nice to save floor space. Showers and water in the room overall were a little slow to heat up as well. The resorts pool is also fantastic. Plenty of bars with an outdoor restaurant and a lazy river to float! They also are home to the Wet Republic ultra pool party club, didn't check this out. There are a few shops inside the MGM and a restaurant of every variety but not as much as say the Forum shops or Venetian shops. Overall, our experience at the MGM Grand was wonderful and we would look to returning back in the future.
  • We stay at The Signature at MGM Grand once a year and pretty much only play at the MGM. We absolutely love the restaurants, games and especially the pool. Can't go wrong staying here. The pool area is definitely the highlight of our trip. It's large enough where you don't have to sit right on top of other guests. The lazy river is amazing and the poolside cocktails are great on a hot Vegas day.
  • Excellent hotel and probably one of the best on the strip. Famous for it's distinctive Emerald facade you can't miss it. Amenities and staff are excellent and there is easy access to a plethora of restaurants and entertainment choices. It's somewhat confusing to navigate around the hallways but after a couple days you'll get the hang of it. Definitely a must visit even if you aren't staying there.
  • Nice resort. Beautiful inside. Petting the lion was awesome. Unfortunately, the staff is kind of rude and rushes you. You pay good money to get to do it. The least they could do is have a better attitude. Lines were super long too. The resort offers a ton for families though. It's definitely worth staying at.
  • MGM Grand is the largest hotel on the strip with almost 5700 rooms. Great views on the strip. Going from one point of the hotel to the another can takes 10 to 15 minutes. There is a great selection of restaurants and bars. While the hotel has 3 pools, they are crowded especially in the afternoon. Mobile check in is very fast and convenient and is a better option than going to the reception desk.
