  • We had such a great time at Lee Canyon. The elevation is high (8000 plus). The views are amazing with mountain views and vista desert views. The pine trees and bristol cone pines are beautiful. There ...  more »

  • Beautiful place! It wasn't bad on a Friday we had a lot of time to snowboard down the beginner hill. Lots of free parking. One thing, if you aren't skiing or snowboarding you are not allowed in the sk...  more »

  • Went in summer and took the lift to the top. Very nice and peaceful. The restaurant at the bottom of the lift offers sandwiches and salads and drinks. Extremely friendly staff. Lots of picnic areas right before the entrance if you want to include picnic plans with a trip on the lift. $12 for adult ticket. Very for the ride and view.
  • Three stars for price, three stars for location, five stars for accessibility, five stars for the awesome staff! I am not a monster skier or snowboarder, but I do enjoy hitting the snow when it's available. For her skiing to be available in the desert of Nevada, it is very exciting! With that being said, this place definitely does not compare to, say, what's available in California and Colorado. With that background, I think paying $100 for gear rental plus one day lift pass is kind of steep because you can get it cheaper at those other places. It is balanced out by the fact that you get a complimentary instructor if you are new! The bunny slopes are friendly, and they have at least two other lives to help you go to more advanced routes. Definitely a fun time! Pro tip: there is a open gorgeous Park area that is free and ideal if you just want to bring your kids out for a snow day!
  • This is a small ski area that packs a punch! It is affordable, and such a fun way to get out of Las Vegas and into an alpine environment. The slopes are filled with beginners, but there is great tree runs, and a decent park. There is hardly even any lift lines despite the lack of a high speed quad. Their bar and food is so awesome, and they have a big outdoor seating area which is great for enjoying a beer and some tunes. Snow coverage is decent, but not guaranteed. Be careful!
  • So much more then expected. Close and easy drive from the strip. It is just a couple of turns and about 50 minutes from downtown. Nice staff, plenty of different terrain for beginners and advanced. Terrain parks are excellent. Moguls and tree skiing. This is a hidden gem and makes for an easy day trip.
  • Went there last weekend to play disc golf. Great challenging corse. Ride the lift up and play back down to the bottom

Where to stay in Las Vegas

Most Las Vegas hotels increase their room rates on the weekends, so if you have a flexible schedule, avoid Fridays and Saturdays and take advantage of package deals that include shows, meals, and gambling coupons. Remember also that if you stay at any one of the lively casino hotels, you may not be able to get a good night's sleep for the duration of your trip. If you come to Vegas to stay but not necessarily play, try one of the non-gaming hotels or explore the quieter areas surrounding the city.
