Fremont Street Experience, Las Vegas

3.9
#1 of 7 in Historic Sites in Las Vegas
Experience the vibrant splendor of endless lights and entertainment under a 27 m (90 ft) vaulted canopy at Fremont Street Experience. The pedestrian mall stretches five blocks through downtown Las Vegas, lined with eclectic shops, street performers, and nightly entertainment. Pay a visit to the Neon Museum or take a wild ride on the 12-story Slotzilla zipline. There's a spectacular light and sound show in the evenings, and often a free concert on one of the mall’s two sound stages. While parking along the Strip is free of charge, you must pay a small fee to park at the mall. • Loved this part of Vegas. It had a really great atmosphere with the big screens playing music over your head, people ziplining through the street and street music. Drinks were super strong and casinos...  more »
  • There's a lot that goes on in this area of vegas. Freaky, weird, just out there kind of stuff. Street performers as well was pretty cool. I went there and checked it off. No need to go there again. On...  more »

  • Want to have fun on a slim budget, the Fremont Street Experience is just the ticket. From beginning to end, there is non stop entertainment. There are buskers( my kind way of saying street performers) of all types providing free entertainment day and night. You can watch a magic show, see a dance troop, marvel at the beauty(cough cough) of male and female Vegas performer. You name it and it's available there. I must give a word of caution, while this is all free, most performers EXPECT, I highlight this to show the level of seriousness, a tip of some sort. You might be flat out asked about it, while others exercise a touch more humility and will take any kindness offered. You can Zoom/Zip Line, gamble, eat, shop, walk around or just do nothing. Whatever your choice is, and budget allows, it's available at The Fremont Street Experience.
  • The free concerts are fantastic but there was this one security guard who was a flat out ass. There was this kid who was in a wheelchair and got to the gate up near the VIP entrance in the public side not in the VIP side. The father asked really nicely for the security guard if he can move forward a foot so he wasn't obscuring the view of the stage for the kid. The guard just absolutely refused, he was a major dick and when I asked for his name so I can report him he refused to give me a that too, so this is his picture. I understand their job is to be security, but not moving a foot forward for a disabled kid is just wrong.
  • Wow! What an experience! I took my friend for her birthday. Both of us had zip lining on our bucket list. When she saw this online, we both new we had to try it. Just be aware the time you made your appointment for, isn't going to be even close to that appointment time. I would suggest you bring lots of water. You will need it. Over all, if I ever get the opportunity to go again, I hope I have the funds to do it!
  • Outdoor entertainment in a cool setting! Cool is literal. It's several blocks with on foot traffic, kiosk vendors, street performers as well as organized entertainment. Nightly light shows on the hour in an air conditioned setting. Don't know how they do that! If you're looking for a thrill, they have a zipline, too! Great fun!
  • Loved the free concerts as I browsed. Definitely unique and this Alaska girl saw some things on the side of the street should never quiet seen before. Fun place to party and have a good time. We enjoyed ourselves and I will return again. The zip line across the crowd looked like it would be incredible. That's on my list for when I return.

Where to stay in Las Vegas

Most Las Vegas hotels increase their room rates on the weekends, so if you have a flexible schedule, avoid Fridays and Saturdays and take advantage of package deals that include shows, meals, and gambling coupons. Remember also that if you stay at any one of the lively casino hotels, you may not be able to get a good night's sleep for the duration of your trip. If you come to Vegas to stay but not necessarily play, try one of the non-gaming hotels or explore the quieter areas surrounding the city.
