Where to stay in Las Vegas

Most Las Vegas hotels increase their room rates on the weekends, so if you have a flexible schedule, avoid Fridays and Saturdays and take advantage of package deals that include shows, meals, and gambling coupons. Remember also that if you stay at any one of the lively casino hotels, you may not be able to get a good night's sleep for the duration of your trip. If you come to Vegas to stay but not necessarily play, try one of the non-gaming hotels or explore the quieter areas surrounding the city.

  • This casino is filled with pure Aloha. Friendly dealers and staff. They have some of the lasted slot machines, as well as slots that still take coins. Great dining options. This is a fun casino. I sha...  more »
  • Located a bit off the Fremont Street complex Downtown, the Casino at the California Hotel offered low table minimums, plenty of seats available, and a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Worth a visit.  more »

  • Friendly staff and service for the most part. Very comfortable for us since a lot of people from Hawaii stay here. It's close to other hotels and some pretty good restaurants. The new wing has some very nice rooms. Great value for the price. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that someone left a drawer full of underwear and socks and it wasn't cleaned out before we checked in. Went to the front to ask them to clear it out; they said they would but it's still there.
  • The California casino is within walking distance to several other casinos around Fremont, which is one of the benefits of staying in the area. They have several tables for games and a good selection of slots. The dealers are very friendly and make it a point to be personable. The bar has great drink specials too. I have yet to stay overnight here, but I make it a point to visit whenever I stay in the area. Definitely worth the visit if you're in the area.
  • It had been years since visiting casinos off of Fremont including the California. Upon visiting this time I was surprised and pleased to see whomever oversees the property has done a lot to make huge improvements. The casino is no longer the dive it once was. There has been a huge renovation there which has really visiting a pleasant experience. The staff was friendly and didn't treat me like I was an inconvenience. The Hotel was clean and well maintained. I recommend visiting if you're in the area.
  • Super close to Fremont, reasonable walk. Casino was reasonable in size, bit smaller than expected. I was visiting for a wedding so price was very good with the wedding discount. Ended up spending additional day and was only charge +$60/day. Rooms were smaller than expected, but hey your only there to sleep. Good restaurants, loved the Noodle House. All in all, I liked my stay.
  • The five stars is for the food only. Ate at the Aloha Specialties. Food was great, service sucks. Ordered my food, sat down, seven tables of people came after me, and got there food before I did. I was sitting 45 minutes before I got mine. I just ordered a combo platter, nothing out of the ordinary. They also forgot my side dish. They were not busy. I think that they forgot to put my order in, even had a lady come by and ask what I ordered.
