  • The exhibit was amazing! The size and beauty of the specimens! We are so lucky to have the Zuhl in Las Cruces!  more »
  • It took a local to direct me to this must see free museum. This is the best collection of petrified wood I have seen - all from a single donor. I totally recommend this side trip by the University.  more »
  • Not your regular museum. It has an amazing collection of petrified trees and minerals that date back thousands of years. Not to miss if you are into natural history.  more »

  • Lovely little rock museum with a bunch of interesting stones. great for a quick browse!
  • Great collection of petrified wood and other fossils. Unfortunately, the samples are not labeled correctly. Mineral samples are missing chemical formulas, and fossilized woods are missing species data. Until this is corrected, this place is just a gallery, not a proper museum. The benefactor, Herbert Zuhl, is a nice guy and has had an interesting, storied life.
  • Really cool collection of petrified wood and spectacular minerals. And it's free!
  • Eclectic mix of rocks and fossils. Perfect for kids!
  • This place is a gem (no punt intended). Easy access, free parking, free admission. If you have even only one hour to spend, do yourself a favor and go visit this astonishing museum. Probably the best display of fossilized woods but italso feature breathtaking minerals and fossiles. A must visit.
