  • It would be a nice if the trails were a little better marked, but Soledad Canyon has a fairly easy loop (~3 mile) that is good for kids or folks that don't typically do a lot of hiking and the scenery...  more »
  • Visited this area on 03/19/17. Trail is well marked & easy to follow. I recommend hiking boots, plenty of water, hat, sunscreen, etc. We hiked in the early morning...the area opens @ 0800. Most of the...  more »

  • Just a short drive from downtown Las Cruces you'll find the entrance to this day us area. There is a decent sized parking lot and maps at the entrance. We only hiked a little over 2 miles this trip since we had the dogs with us and one can't handle much longer trips, but it was great. The path is mostly made of smaller rocks and dirt but and is easy terrain for begginers. There is a steady increase in elevation as you walk along the path we took, but nothing too challenging. There are a few great views a few miles in, and it looks like there are spectacular views if you head all the way to the peak. There is a loop, but that is a decent amound of miles so make sure to bring water and a snack if you plan to do the whole thing.
  • What an amazing hike! We saw such an amazing variety of flora and fauna. I couldn't stop taking pictures. The hike itself is pretty easy. We did it with our toddler on my back. If you're heading to or through Las Cruces, you definitely want to go here.
  • There's two parts to the trail. Taking the left path goes to the waterfall. Doesn't really have running water most of the time though. Great views. Taking the right path can be either easy or hard because at one point you can choose to go up the mountain side. That's my favorite one.
  • Some beautiful views and hiking here. While the walk to the springs is most common - and it's really not much different than you find at Dripping Springs nearby - there are miles of smaller trails weaving through the area that are not to be missed.
  • I love going hiking out here!
