  • We got here early in the morning to beat the crazy winds in the spring. We surprised a herd of 6 mule deer who clambered up the rocks and out of sight. We spotted several bird species as well. The vie...  more »
  • A lack of restroom would be the only complaint but regardless, this has outstanding hiking with amazing views. I loved every moment of the hike. It's a three mile loop but at around 1.9 miles you can ...  more »
  • We made a wrong turn & found ourselves driving through one of the most unusual landscapes I had ever seen. The Mountains are jagged and stricking. You can't take your eyes off them.  more »

  • Great place to go on a short hike if you want to go out but don't want to be out for more than an hour or so. Unlike Dripping Springs there is no fees and you can bring your dogs. The only downside is that it can get packed on the weekends and takes away from the ambiance of the location.
  • Great place for a relaxed hike! Perfect challenge for beginners but experienced hikers should check out the trail if only just to admire a true natural treasure. Great place for families too, just watch out for those cacti and ant hills!
  • Beautiful hike, but there are no facilities in the day use area but a single garbage can. No toilet, no water, no place to picnic. Also disappointing that they close the gate so early. I had read this was a good sunset hike, but you'd have to hike in from beyond the gate to find out.
  • Great hike to do if you have a few spare hours. It is free to park in this area, unlike some of the other locations in the organ mountains. We saw a lot of cool plants and even a tarantula. There are also some great views.
  • This was a very nice area with multiple trails and the ruins of an old stone house. The was also a small waterfall at the back of the canyon.
