  • Awesome museum! Young or old, you will absolutely find something that catches your attention! The staff is friendly and helpful, and the gift shop is actually affordable...and I mean this in the most single mom kind of way! Definitely check it out--you'll love it!
  • I visited this museum with my mom recently and we both enjoyed it. It was a nice way to see different parts of Michigan history and it didn't cost very much to get in. There was a lot of different things to look at. It didn't take us too long to get through, maybe two hours. If you were going with kids you might want to plan to be there longer though.
  • Kids (9 & 7) groaned when we said we wanted to take them to a museum. there were parts that they skimmed over quickly, but other parts that they really enjoyed. My husband wanted to stay all day, I could have spent more time as well. we had estimated about 2 hours and ended up staying over 3. leaving because the kids were getting a little restless. the staff was very friendly and helpful.
  • The Historical Museum is the best place in the state to learn about Michigan from then until now. There is a gallery of rotating exhibits so even if you have been here before, there is always something new to see. The 3 floors of permanent exhibits are laid out in chronological order and create a fun run through Michigan history. This is a 'must see' for any Michigan resident and a good place for tourists to visit too.
  • This is the best museum I can remember visiting. Lots of stuff to see.
