  • You may have read or picked up information about coal mining. But, until you take the tour and see if first hand. Will you really learn what life was like. The tour guide is very knowledgeable.

  • The highlight of our Poconos trip! Our tour guide, John, was well-informed and funny. My two-year-old loved the whole train ride and tour, and we learned a lot. A unique experience. I can't recommend it enough.
  • It is a good feeling to respect and walk inside the mines where those men who worked and were the back bone of the industrial revolution. I appreciate this opportunity that has taught me so much. Thank you
  • I don't do a lot of surveys but had to take the time to give this 5 stars. Amazing. Don't miss it
  • What an unexpected gem! What started out as just something to do on a Sunday turned out to be a great experience. The museum was a bit overwhelming at first because there are so many details of the history of the area, but the movie was really good and the events of the era were shocking. The mine tour turned out to be so much better than expected and we loved that our guide, John, also explained what happened in nearby Centralia, where we were headed after our tour. We were so impressed with the passion the employees have for preserving and sharing the history of the area. John was a great guide and a skilled storyteller; he made the miner's come alive with a good balance of technical details.
  • We had the best experience with the coal mine tour. Must see if you are visiting Jim Thorpe.
