  • Fresh, local everything. If you were going to the Giant... Stop. They have it here. Maplehofe milk, Stoner's veggies, the Herb & Grain Shops, plus local crafts and Mean Cup's stand. Only open three days a week, so go while the going is good. And get an Achenbach's Danish while you're there.
  • Has a little bit of everything, but almost everything is local. And that's key. Local produce, local meats, local crafts, local dairy, local baked goods, and on and on. The atmosphere is amazing, and the stand operators are enthusiastic and welcoming. In full disclosure, I shop here every day for the local restaurant I work for, but came here before, and would continue to come after. By far a must see place, even if just once
  • I allways love going here early morning i think is best or later in the day just before closing they have been doing alot off work to freshin up thing so be aware off that there are two parking lots right next to the market one one prince st and one on king just as u turn frome prince on to king. I do wish they could get some new vendors for some spots they have open but all in al its a nice old time market tucked in between bulidings making u fell like u steped back in time.
  • Central Market is located just off the square in downtown Lancaster. It has local food in season but in addition it has an eclectic assortment of prepared foods. These include Middle Eastern, African, Greek, Cuban and German. Bakeries providing fresh bread great variety. They also have pastries. My favorite is Achenbach's run by Daniel Stoltzfus, wife, and daughter. They sell homemade preserves. Humanely raised meat and organic vegetables are offered at many stands. Brogue hydroponics and Stoner's have summertime tomatoes as early as March and as late as December. Groff's has a variety of green produce and the best celery I've had anywhere.
  • Everyone that lives in the area needs to go here at least once in their life. From awesome coffee to the best spring rolls in town to the pretzel lady central market is fantastic. You can find anything and everything and usually at a great price.
