#1 of 42 in Things to do in Lancaster
Theme Park Water / Amusement Park
The imitation stone facade of Dutch Wonderland was built by a potato farmer in 1963. The park has 34 rides and Duke's Lagoon water park, as well as shows and games for children. The Kingdom Coaster and Joust roller coasters are favorites, along with the traditional carnival rides, such as bumper cars. For a glimpse of the past, visit Exploration Island, which is home to 15 early animatronic dinosaurs that growl and bow as you walk the Prehistoric Path. • Don't compare this place to Disney - it's not authentic, but lots of fun. Knock of castles, princesses and princes, but who cares?!? it wasn't crowded (we went on a July/Monday) and didn't wait once f...  more »
  • Everything was amazing! The rides were great for the kids. The rides were perfect for Parent/Child to ride together and share an experience they will remember forever. Be prepared to stay from open to...  more »
  • We visited Dutch Wonderland this summer with my five-year-old daughter and she had a blast. She was tall enough to ride every ride but one roller coaster. She enjoyed the atmosphere and playing the ga...  more »

  • Perfect for kids. Employees are incredible. Lots of fun rides. When they are slow, they don't make you get off the ride and walk all the way around again. They let you stay on. That is awesome!
  • Great place for families with children 11/12 and under. Not bad entry price, good food and drink prices. Fun rides for the little ones. Beware ride seats are on the narrow side good to keep kids in the ride, tough on larger adults.
  • Fun place for kids of all ages. My 7 and 9 year old had a blast. My 12 year old had fun since the lines were shorter than other parks. She would have loved some bigger coasters but was still pleased. Good food too!
  • My entire family loves this park. We live about an hour away. I just bought season pass tickets today. After going twice in June I decided it was time to purchase and have fun all summer! Love my family time!
  • For kids no older than 9 or 10. Clean and nicely landscaped. A lot of rides were down sadly due to the neverending construction of a new coaster, or I would have gone four stars. Good for anyone day experience and overall my kids did have fun here.

Where to stay in Lancaster

If your trip to Pennsylvania's "Dutch Country" includes a budget for luxurious accommodations, stay at a resort in the city of Lancaster. Though quite pricey, the city's resorts offer access to on-site restaurants, fitness centers, game rooms, indoor pools, and championship golf courses. For something less expensive, consider staying at a bed and breakfast in the picturesque Amish countryside. Inns just a short ride from downtown Lancaster offer good food and comfortable rooms, plus free parking and complimentary Wi-Fi.
