Dutch Wonderland, Lancaster

(4.3/5 based on 1,800+ reviews on the web)
The imitation stone facade of Dutch Wonderland was built by a potato farmer in 1963. The park has 34 rides and Duke's Lagoon water park, as well as shows and games for children. The Kingdom Coaster and Joust roller coasters are favorites, along with the traditional carnival rides, such as bumper cars. For a glimpse of the past, visit Exploration Island, which is home to 15 early animatronic dinosaurs that growl and bow as you walk the Prehistoric Path. • We used to visit every few years while my daughter was young. This time we came as a family with her two boys, 4 & 6. Still great for up to about 10 year olds.

  • Awesome experience. Everyone so kind. Just enough rides, games are affordable. Best part? It rained after we spent about 3 hours in the park enough for them to close but they gave everyone free passes to come back another day before Dec 31. Very generous.
  • I had an amazing time there with my 6 year old. I wish we knew about this place sooner. Its perfect for small children. We used our food voucher to eat a meal there and she food was great. I would certainly recommend this place for anyone with elementary aged children and younger. PS: Not sure why people on this thread are complaining about the weather as if Dutch Wonderland is responsible for the heat. If you go in the summer, expect to be hot. I will say they had a lot of trees there that provided shade.
  • An overall enjoyable experience. We got there on an early fall morning so it was a little chilly, but most of the attractions were open. The park itself is roomy and didn't tend to be over-crowded. The rides were great for kids with nothing too over the top. The games were fun and didn't seem to be rigged, which is great for kids. The big downside was that the entrance price was on par with Hershey or Knoebles Grove, but both those parks offer far more to do. Also the food was extremely over priced, but they did offer great healthy options for kids. Over all an enjoyable time for the family, I'm sure it's even more fun in the summer with the water rides.
  • It is completely for kids which was awesome. I traveled 3 1/2 Hours to get here and it was worth it. The good available wasn't too overpriced and my 6 year old daughter loved it and felt oh so brave going on everything. She loved the Kingdom Coaster.
  • Fun for the kids and adults. There are plenty of rides for little ones, but a good number of rides and activities for the whole family. Compared to other big parks, you can go here, have an enjoyable day and not break the bank. (Leaving money left over for the outlet stores down the street! :)) We really had a "Ducth-Wonderful Day"!
