  • I am not a cat person by any means but the place was still super cool. The staff clearly really cared about the cats to the point where they could name almost all of the cats we saw. The cats were fri...  more »

  • What a wonderful place to visit on Lanai island! It was so fun to give the cats treats and pet them. The cats are in a wonderful environment. The girl that was there the day we went was so kind and ga...  more »

  • Kitty cats everywhere! Cute fluffy furry critters eager for a little bit of your attention. So many kitties, so little time. This is a must for cat enthusiasts and animal lovers. They are all so friendly. I do not recommend this place for toddlers. Make sure your child appreciates and understands the difference between "happy kitty" and "leave me alone kitty." Almost all of them are happy kitties, but like humans, some have a bad day. Children who are rough with animals are discouraged from going. A cat is an animal that will defend itself if needed.
  • So, people go to the islands to enjoy, and relax. Even fewer people go to Lanai to unplug and recharge, because Maui is too busy, and active. But there's an even more significant elite minority, and those are people that don't even care about coming to an island, or the weather, or the slow pace of life. It's that people who love cats come from all over the world to visit this island near and island, and this wonderful project that saves feral cats from the native bird people who would have them "eradicated" in the name of saving a different animal. Step in a genius, with a wonderful plan to save both! The native birds being killed by feral cats was a problem that came to a head, and Kathy Carroll came up with this idea of putting the cats somewhere they loved to be, saving these native animals, and poor feral creatures... It's a really amazing story. Now the wonderful part is that you can visit the sanctuary (please make sure to donate), and you get to see and play with, at last count, 596 rescues! I need to upload some pics, because it was such a joy to see so many happy felines able to do what they love... relax, play, eat, sleep, and be safe and cared for. I was so surprised this existed... it was not on my radar for my lovely vacation. Once we heard about it, it was a must, and we had the time of our life! You could spend 15 to 20 minutes, but you could also spend hours. For some people, this is cat mecca, and frankly, a wonderful business model to spread to other areas. So I wouldn't miss this. It's an adorable treat. If you like, and are not allergic to, cats.
  • Amazing dedication! Every food/water bowl was shining clean. Fresh straw, baskets, cubbies, anything a cat would want to curl up in. Could not believe how well they took care of so many cats. Amazing area, island breeze blowing through.... Glad we went
  • This was an absolute amazing place to visit. The 600 cats that are currently here are super well cared for by an amazing staff. The cats are some of the friendliest I have ever seen. One followed me around the whole time. If you are on Lanai and not allergic you have to come here. They even offer adoption so if you fall in love they can send you that cat!
  • What ana amazing place. Absolutely loved it visited a couple of times during our stay. So much space for the catsto laze and eat and play. They get visitors often so are never short of love. A wonderful place to visit if you are a cat lover! Could spend the whole day here playing with the cats and taking fun photos. Would love to visit again!
