  • Kathy Joy and all the staff at LCR were professional and helpful throughout the purchase of our vacation cottage. We recommend them to anyone.
  • We made a hotel reservation in advance so that we would have a place to stay after a day on Kelly's Island. We had no idea that the community would charge us 18.00 per person plus a fee for our car to get to our hotel room! The service at the hotel was virtually nonexistent - no glasses for water in the dusty room. A sub par continental breakfast rivaled by Motel six. The community is sort of quaint - but there are dozens of other communities that are prettier and DON'T CHARGE to shop, stay, or dine. (And quite frankly the whole place seemed a little creepy - sort of "cult" like.) To not be told about this strange backward toll in advance or for the hotel not to validate passes for the guest is UNFORGIVABLE! Add to that the mediocre room and poor service and you have the perfect storm of a bad experience. Do yourself a favor and avoid! I will NEVER COME BACK!
  • To describe Hoover Auditorium: Old school gigantic meeting hall, enormous proscenium arch, no balconies. The fact that Eleanor Roosevelt spoke here says it all. Michael Stanley gasped and said "incredible" when he peeked through the curtain at the main house during sound check. Ray Charles said that this is a "great space" (you can hear the size of the space from stage). The acoustics are awful--it is like a giant airplane hanger that could probably hold several 747s if you parked them right--but the vibe is awesome. The downside is that the audience seems a mile away, which leads to an old comment, "All performers should get a chance to suffer on this stage".
  • The room had not been used in a long time and was very dusty, had cobwebs, spider webs and we found a pair of underware in the closet.
