Golf Course
By creating an 18-hole golf course on the closed Lantana Landfill, Palm Beach County and the Solid Waste Authority turned a useless piece of property into a popular community asset.

Originally closed in 1987, the Solid Waste Authority and Palm Beach County began construction of this unique facility in 2004.

Topping 85 feet at its highest point it just may be the highest golf experience in the County, and while heaven and earth was not moved to build the course, over 645,000 cubic yards of fill was imported to create contours and cover the specialized irrigation system.

The golf course which was opened to the public in March of 2007 has not only received engineering and environmental awards, it has also been certified by Audubon International as a cooperative sanctuary.

  • The course is wide open missed drives you can still save the hole. Some amazing views on the back nine. It's built on old dump so on occasion you get a methane odor. It's very good in winter season. S...  more »
  • Hills in Florida? Unheard of? Well, Park Ridge is built on a huge old landfill and you will find rises and valleys usually not found in this state. The quality of the fairways is fair to good... Green...  more »
  • These ####ing ###holes have their alarm system sounding all ####ing night and all the ####ing time Mind you, I'm writing this review at 4-####ing-AM in the ####ing morning I have to laugh when I go to the website and read their bull#### about building relationships and being close to the community. That ####ing alarm system has been sounding off for the last couple of months, all night sometimes, and no one is doing anything about it ####ing ###holes
  • Played there on January 25th and the course conditions were pretty wet ; ball kept plugging on the fairway which obviously shows drainage problem . The methane smell on some holes is pretty annoying . Greens on the other hand were great and fast. Hole nunber 8th is a hole that creates a major delay in the game . I feel it should be redesign to keep the pace moving . On the back nine the par 3, 14th hole was playing 93 yards: way to short of a hole , But overall the staff was very courteous and it was a narrow and challenging course to play. Bert Dagenais Canada
  • Wonderful challenging course.! About the ONLY place to play such elevation changes in Palm Beach county...good use of waste land (old landfill) good use of our tax dollars. My wife & I will definitely be back.
  • This is a great layout, and a course that you can shoot low on. The par 5's are reachable from the blue tee's or a up n down for a birdie always possible. The Greens are good, the turf is usually lush with good cushion if you hit it fat. There are no trees for shade so if its hot bring a straw hat 'for sure'!, however being up high there is a good breeze. The staff are not the nicest, a bunch of old cronies who really look for any reason to find a negative and tell you about it. Whats up with this ???...The bag guys are nice. Do stop in the Sunoco Gas Station / Circle K store just east of Lyons Rd on the right after your round as they have a walk in cooler to get a coldie - Ahhhh!
  • Park Ridge is a land dump turned into a golf course. If you can not hit it straight, you are dead here. Very solid course. Most Par 3's have steep elevated greens. I would highly recommend this course.
