  • A must-do at Lake Tahoe: The Rubicon trail in the D.L. Bliss State Park on the South western shore of the Lake. This trail starting from the Rubicon Point along the shores of the Lake to Emerald Bay, with its small island in the Lake. This trail is not flat (!), which he again declined or a ride, for example, at the camping site on Emerald Bay, organized. The path is not hard to commit and suitable for children or families, but relatively long: one direction takes 4 h until the end of roughly, but not necessarily go the way to end. It is advisable to go to the island in the Emerald Bay can be seen but at least so far (about 2-3 h). There is also a campsite where the trail can be left optional on this shore. A break with strengthening and perhaps a dip in the Lake at this point is. To take plenty of water, a hat against the very strong sun and at least sneakers or similar footwear (and a camera for the very beautiful landscape) is on this hike. Directions/directions: Emerald Bay Rd on the South West side of the Lake Tahoe - on the Lester Beach Rd (campsite with low entrance fee, but can directly on the Lakeshore or on the beach with bathing facilities be parked)-car park at the end of the Lester Beach Rd (entrance to the Rubicon trail; these parking spaces are very quickly, therefore, an approach is beneficial in the early morning).

  • The water is really incredibly bright! Really beautiful! Unfortunately for us it was out of season and we couldn't paddle. There seems to me to be spectacular! Very nice to have been to! Very Lake tahoe by the way!

  • This is a beautiful park with nice campgrounds and a beach you have to hike to. The cons (boy are there serious cons): Get here before 10AM on the weekend to find parking at the beach. The minuscule day use parking at the entrance gets filled quickly so be prepared to park on highway 89 and walk in if you want to hike around. The campsites cost a ridiculous $45/night. Don't bring your dog since it's a CA State Park.
  • Beautiful trails, view, and beach. The campground was great with nice facilities, but we couldn't enjoy our campground because of all the yellow jackets. We kept food covered when not using it, but the moment we tried to cook or eat they were everywhere. I'm not sure if other sites on the grounds had the same problem.
  • Get there early for the lot at the bottom, on the sand obviously fills up quickly. They maintain a clean facility. Perfect location to launch your kayak for heading to Emerald Bay.
  • Great place to relax at the beach! Amazing campsites for tent camping too. Just make sure you get there early during peak season due to day use filling up.
  • Beautiful camping experience. We went hiking, kayaking and just enjoying the outdoors. Water was clear and refreshing, the beach was busy but not an issue since we were already in the campgrounds.
