We had to stop here to pay the fee and get the pass to post on the car to drive for our handicap passenger instead of hiking a mile down and climb back up. They had stuffed forest critters with labels...  more »

DL Bliss state park covers a nice piece of land with excellent view of the Tahoe Lake shore and mountains. For day hikers, the experience of walking along the Rubicon trail is fantastic. However, it b...  more »

We wanted to avoid the crowds at Emerald Bay State park so we drove a little bit up the road to this lovely park. Upon arriving at the lower entrance we were told there was no parking at the beach. We...  more »

If you have babies, toddlers, or are handicapped you are not allowed on that beach simply because they do not allow us to drop off people who can't walk. This is absurd and there should be an exception for people with disabilities or people with babies. Every day, during the week or week end, we always have been kicked out asking us to not even drop off our babies (with an adult) because it is against their policy. We then tried to come as early as possible or come later during the day, during non peak time, and we always have been kicked off. I tried to explain that with babies it is very difficult to walk two miles so they should allow us to drop off the babies with an adult and an adult stays with the babies while the other adult go back to park the car somewhere else and walk back down the 2 miles. Again it was impossible

This place is beautiful! There are yellow jackets but they never were a bother for us. Try getting a spot that has more wind and it will keep them away.

We've been coming here every summer since 2005. You really can't beat the combination of beautiful weather, reasonable temperatures, beach and mountains. The campground facilities are having some issues with deferred maintenance (CA State park after all) but are usually serviceable.

This is a beautiful park with nice campgrounds and a beach you have to hike to. The cons (boy are there serious cons): Get here before 10AM on the weekend to find parking at the beach. The minuscule day use parking at the entrance gets filled quickly so be prepared to park on highway 89 and walk in if you want to hike around. The campsites cost a ridiculous $45/night. Don't bring your dog since it's a CA State Park.
