  • We camped here and absolutely loved it! We had a lower beach site and it was only a five minute walk down to the shore! Bathrooms were clean and well taken care of as well as the sites. The trails wer...  more »
  • Visited on Sat. May 13th. 2 weeks before Memorial Day weekend. Apparently, California State Park systems believes no one visits their state parks before Memorial Day weekend. I'm here to testify that ...  more »
  • This is a true Tahoe gem. Great park in a great setting. Yes there are bears and bees but no need to scare you away. The park is very well run and the beach is amazing. If going for the day, go early....  more »

  • This place is beautiful! There are yellow jackets but they never were a bother for us. Try getting a spot that has more wind and it will keep them away.
  • This is a beautiful park with nice campgrounds and a beach you have to hike to. The cons (boy are there serious cons): Get here before 10AM on the weekend to find parking at the beach. The minuscule day use parking at the entrance gets filled quickly so be prepared to park on highway 89 and walk in if you want to hike around. The campsites cost a ridiculous $45/night. Don't bring your dog since it's a CA State Park.
  • The Yellow Jackets! They were out in the thousands and they bite. We've been enjoying this place every year but this year was WAY different. It's usually a great place but I'm telling you the yellow jackets were out in mass numbers and biting such that we could not enjoy ourselves. The minute you try to do any cooking they make it impossible.
  • Beautiful trails, view, and beach. The campground was great with nice facilities, but we couldn't enjoy our campground because of all the yellow jackets. We kept food covered when not using it, but the moment we tried to cook or eat they were everywhere. I'm not sure if other sites on the grounds had the same problem.
  • Great place to relax at the beach! Amazing campsites for tent camping too. Just make sure you get there early during peak season due to day use filling up.
