Magic Forest, Lake George

Located in the heart of the Adirondacks, Magic Forest features 25 rides and themed shows aimed at entertaining younger children and sparking their imaginations. Lead your little one through the Fairy Tale Trail, which tells the stories of Hansel and Gretel, the Three Little Pigs, and other classic tales. Take a tractor ride on the Mile Long Safari and make your way through make-believe animals and their habitats, or watch a magician perform tricks during a magic show. On your way out, stop for a photo with the giant Uncle Sam statue, the largest in the world at nearly 12.4 m (40 ft). Keep in mind that the park is meant for toddlers, and adults will not be able to go on most rides. • This park was closed for the season when we were in Lake George but it looked like it would be fun. I've read mixed reviews about it but I love the fact that it looks like a throw back to the '60's. I...  more »
  • A small former amusement park style but very limited opening hours. Straight out of a movie!

  • Yes, it's an old venue. We prefer to call it "kitschy". There are things here you can't find anywhere else: old, cool rides...a DIVING HORSE...a great magician...decently priced food..and best of all:...  more »

  • Quirky, fun place! Def many photo ops with all of the kooky statues. Which makes it fun! The train ride wa like taking a trip to the twilight zone...Def rec if looking for a unique experience
  • If you have little kids, this place is awesome, and you will spend the whole day here. Almost all the rides are for kids under 10. The whole place is in the shade. Snack bar is very reasonable, and you are allowed to bring your own food/drinks into the park. Yes, some of the decorations around the park are a bit outdated...it's not a big deal. As for the various lunatics that have negatively opined regarding the diving horse, consider this: horses in nature jump into bodies of water under various circumstances (heat...escaping biting flies...etc...). This horse only has one job: from June through Labor Day, twice a day, he jumps into a pool (and its not a high jump). Mind you, they cancel it when it's cold or raining, so in reality, he only jumps in the pool on warm, sunny days. That's his ONLY job in life. When he isn't performing, he has a nice enclosure in the park. He is not pulling a plow or a buggy in Amish country; he is not in the circus; he is not a racehorse; people in third world countries aren't making him carry bunch of stuff all day; kids aren't riding him around a pen at country fairs; he's not being turned into glue, pet food, or a meal for French people; and he's not being ridden into battle anywhere. His ONLY job is to jump into a pool twice a day when it is hot outside.
  • Very strange place but fun. I enjoyed the magic show and rides. Snack bar was adequate. I'm not an animal activist but the diving horse act bothered me and others very much. I really felt sorry for the horse and when I asked I was told the horse was doing this for 18 years. Time to let him retire to live in peace somewhere
  • This place is weird, and creepy but in an awesome way. Time forgot this little amusement park. The rides are really all did kids, it's a great place to take kids under 10 where they can actually have fun and go on the rides.
  • If you want your children to have night terrors then this is the place for you. There hasn't been an update to this place since the owner tripped balls on acid and designed it. It's fun in a creepy way and all I thought the whole time was that they could film a horror movie here without adding any props
