  • We have been here a few times when we've been in Colorado. I think the place is magnificent. The views are gorgeous. The road is kind of washboard bumpy, but we stop every couple hundred yards and jus...  more »
  • Lots of fishermen in this canyon, but a delight of nature...first time saw lots of fish in the water, otters right nearby. second time, saw a bald eagle overhead...lots of fishermen both times.
  • My partner and I drove across from Colorado Springs to the Eleven Mile Reservoir last week. After purchasing a park day pass ($7 from the main office) we rented a tandem kayak from the marina ($40 for...  more »

  • This park and campground are impeccably clean. The scenery is stunning. The staff that operate the park are mostly great, friendly and outgoing folks. There only exception is the last that works on the garbage bins..... Rude, unfriendly for no reason and not helpful. Otherwise, there marina employees, the park rangers and everyone else(guests and staff) were all clearly enjoying themselves. The lake was a lot of fun as well. There are some definite fishing hotspots if you just ask one of the other people that pulled out 22" rainbows. Great family friendly recreation.
  • Beautiful Lake area. I went fishing. The lake reminds me of an ocean. It is, indeed, about 11 miles long. Mostly dirt roads; $7 fee to park. The area is so rural and quiet for a large lake: that's because there are no airplanes flying, and no cars. Such a pristine area surrounded by mountains on all sides.
  • We camped at Rocky Ridge.. It was right next to the outhouse. All night long we could hear people shuffle down the dirt road with their flashlights illuminating our tent. I used this facility one time and there was poop splattered everywhere. So we drove to the flushing toilets and showers. The showers are cold! They we not clean at all. Hot and windy! Not impressed.
  • Was there 5-9 June,2016. Hardly anyone there. Site was fairly level. Electric was satisfactory. 30A outlet will probably need to be replaced soon but was safe. Beautiful scenery, fishing and boating. Rained a few times and very windy but for the most part, weather was great. I would have given the park a five star review but due to one factor I had to down-rate it. The dump station. This is a very nice dump station with the exception of no water for flushing. I would have thought that with the availability of water this would be available. The concrete pad was messy from previous use with toilet paper laying around. No way to get rid of it. Hopefully this will be remedied soon. I will definitely return to this park again...
  • Eh, it's a State-owned park, so you go with reasonable expectations. If camping, just be sure to have $7/day for parking on top of the $18 nightly camp pass, which is self service, so also bring a checkbook. The area lacks many trees, and it's pretty hot and windy during the day, while at night it gets fairly cold. At high elevation, you may want sunscreen. There are spots near the water to unload boats or fish. The bathrooms had tp surprisingly.
