Art Museum Museum
Laguna Art Museum is a museum of California art. Its purpose is to provide the public with exposure to art and to promote understanding of the role of art and artists in American culture through collection, conservation, exhibition, research, scholarship and education. Working within the tradition of the oldest cultural institution in Orange County, Laguna Art Museum documents regional art and places it in a national context. The museum maintains its historic ties to the community and is responsive, accessible, and relevant to the area’s diverse population.

The museum’s exhibitions, catalogues, and educational activities illustrate an ongoing examination of California art, which includes historical and contemporary art. Through collections, publications, and research on the art of California, Laguna Art Museum promotes understanding of the role of California art and artists in the development of the visual arts nationally and internationally.

"Laguna Art Museum is the county's leading museum for California art, and rivals the Orange County Museum of Art in its presentation of contemporary art. Curator of Exhibitions Grace Kook-Anderson brings a fresh perspective to the mix. Indeed, the Laguna Art Museum has done more in the past couple years to attract a wide variety of visitors to its galleries than any other visual art institution in Orange County."

  • For art lovers this is a great museum to go. This museum art is representing Southern California artists of 20th and 21st century. The most ambient art is by Philip Dike. His art is amazing, you can see different styles from classic to abstract. This is small, but indeed, worth to go place.
  • A great museum with lots of inspiring California works. I take my college age kids to see art every time we get together no matter what city we're in. This was icing on the cake for a beach day in Laguna. Staff is super friendly, the museum is bigger than it appears on the outside with lots of art and history.
  • Classy venue to appreciate local contemporary artists. Open free to the public once a month. Located right in the middle of scenic Laguna Beach!
  • I remember going here on school field trips as a kid. Now I am taking my family here. The museum was clean and i felt safe with my family. There was a lot to do. I will be coming back...... updates! Came back to take the family to the butterfly pavilion. It was cool. You get to walk around with hundreds of butterflies......well being butterflies.
  • This museum was such a delightful surprise! We've been to Laguna tons of times but had never stopped by. We did on this trip because there was an exhibit we wanted to see and I'm so glad we did. All of the art was wonderful and the gift shop had some darling items too - we picked up some holiday presents! The staff were so friendly too when we brought our baby with us.
