Crystal Cove, Laguna Beach

(4.6/5 based on 850+ reviews on the web)
Take in the unspoiled natural beauty of southern California's coastline at Crystal Cove. The 1,592 ha (3,936 ac) park offers 5.1 km (3.2 mi) of clean beaches and tide pools, as well as a 566 ha (1,400 ac) marine conservation area and bluffs and canyons throughout. Take a shuttle from the parking lot along the highway to avoid the strenuous walk down to the shore. The surf is gentle and ideal for swimming, boogey boarding, and searching for shells and sea creatures. Visit the restored cottages in the Crystal Cove Historic District to see where people first settled before southern California had its population boom. If you plan in advance, these quaint cottages can be rented out quite affordably. • Beautiful view of the slice of the coast, especially in the morning, the rays of the rising sun. There is a parking for caravans and camping. Paved paths, wooden barbecue. In the park itself, which is located in the Valley leads ground track, next to the entrance of the Park scheme indicating the distances. It is very convenient. Enter directly from the highway, running along the coast of Laguna Beach or Newport Beach. Turn under the arrow, though her long wait. Near the park there is a school and from there often come schoolchildren on an excursion.

  • Charming and fun!!! Have been to the restaurant and have been for a party at a charming beach house. Wonderful!!
  • Its like stepping back in History to a simpler cleaner time. The Beach walk is one of my favourites and as a matter of fact it becomes a daily ritual when in Newport Beach

  • This park is not pet friendly. They have a lot of trails that dogs are not allowed on and they were all closed anyway, due to unsafe conditions. The beach closes at sunset, which they will patrol and kick you off it. The so called tide pools can never be seen, since it is at dark when you view them when the beach is closed. The campsites sit atop a steep hillside, you have to drive down to a parking lot to walk under the road to get beach access. The water in this area is too rough to snorkel. The restrictions of this park outweigh the attraction for me.
  • Crystal Cove is a beautiful beach that isn't as crowded as other tourist beaches I've been to. Sure, there's a small crowd on entrance, but a few steps down, you can set up for a spot all to yourself. Good way to get some peace and quiet with the waves by your side. Parking can be a bit of a pain as there are limited spots. Be sure to come early (or late) to make sure you get a good spot.
  • Nice beach. Not too crowded. Sand on the beach was soft. Good sized beach. A fair bit of seaweed and debris on the beach and in the surf. Waves were good for surfing. Opportunities for snorkeling as well.
  • MAN BEAUTIFUL BEACH!!! Brought my family to San Diego for vacation crystal cove 1000step beach is beautiful one of the most beautiful I've ever seen we as a family loved it and would relax and come again... The 1000 steps suck -.- lol but great beach
  • This beach is nice once you sit down and settle in, but it's a PITA to park across Pacific Coast Highway and walk with your stuff or load it in the shuttle bus. Bring exact change to make the driver's life better. Coming and going are the hard parts. Beach is nice.
