  • Everything I wanted in camping!! Beautiful lake, beautiful views! Easy access! "Cliffs" you can jump off! The most bare-able outside restrooms I've ever been in! I can't wait to go back!  more »
  • Nice, large, private and primitive camp sites for tenting. Many on cliffs above Lake Travis. Don't have info on RV sites to share but the park is huge so there are many options.  more »

  • Beautiful and easy going camping; pet-friendly, too! Lots of trails to hike or bike with amazing views. If you get there early enough you can get one of the waterfront or clifftop campsites. Well worth it!
  • Great location but prepare to ROUGH it. Large sticker patches so wear tennis shoes. Primitive outhouses that are not for the faint of heart. There are much nicer parks and camping facilities in the Austin and surrounding area.
  • Love the bike trails here, one of my favorite around town to ride. Only trouble is they don't close them, ever, so when it rains be careful. The trails fill with thick mud quite quickly.
  • I visit Highland Lakes Baptist Camp & Conference Center, which is located inside Pace Bend Park, a couple of times a year for a youth camp and a men's retreat with my church. The grounds are beautiful, and just this year, the water levels were high enough to enjoy the lake to the fullest (eh eh?). I've not personally been to the public boat ramps available throughout the parks, so I can't speak about those. This park is a nice spot to visit with family, which is not too far out of Austin (about 40 minutes west). Before turning off of Highway 71 onto Pace Bend Drive, there is a gas station/convenience store. Further down Pace Bend Drive, you'll find a few cafes and restaurants to for a bite to eat. All of these are not far from the park itself.
  • Bring cash for the entrance fees. No credit cards. This is an awesome park. I hiked about 10 hours and spent the night here.
