This was a great hike with several easy trails for the entire family. The scenery is fantastic and definitely worth a morning hike... before it gets too hot.  more »

Very well hidden park with a lake. You can camp, fish and swim (pool). Keep in mind that you will need a fishing license and you cannot swim in the lake. Park has playground for kids and barbecues throughout the park. They do have a pool but they charge to get in. Can't remember exactly but believe it was 4 dollars per person. Went during stagecoach festival and campground was somewhat crowded. Some college aged kids drinking but very quiet and respectful. Overall had a great time with the family. Campsites have showers and bathrooms. If you're going in summertime bring a cooler with some beers and enjoy. Oh and do all of us a favor and pick up your trash!!!

Decent campgrounds with full RV hookups available. As well as other campsites intermingled. Next to a small scenic lake with no swimming. Pool and lounge area near the front gate Also hot, hot showers avaible for $0.25 for about 1.5 minutes, so bring quarters if you desire

Clean, dog friendly. Good atmosphere. Clean restrooms, always available, Well stocked (paper towels, t.p., soap dispenser). This place doesn't have that feeling that if you left something laying around, it would disappear. A couple of visitors were rude, and let their dogs yap, alot.. But overall, good, positive, vacation vibes. Oh..high winds came up last night. Took 1 tent down. I was up all night, spread eagle, foot or hand in each corner, trying to keep mine from blowing, rolling to Texas. Tent camping not for sissies, in that respect. Although only happened twice in 1 week. It's that time of year out here... When the wind dies down, the temperatures will soar. Summertime

Great county park, sucks cuz of the dirt/sand/high winds. Great site but winds off the mountains can and often reach 70 mph gusts. I've had to buy two tents due to wind damage. Taken tons of sand outta my tent. Had to buy a new point and shoot camera as sand got into the lens and could not be repaired.

You can access the hiking to La Quina Cover here. Went in the spring when the wildflowers were amazing. We did not see mountain sheep but are told that you can see them from time to time.
