  • It was great to be able to get on the ship and explore. It's unfortunate that it is taking on water. Hopefully they will be able to raise the money for preservation. A wonderful piece of history.  more »
  • Great historical site for people of all ages! It would be better to go on a cool day. I would not recommend this for people who have a hard time walking or climbing stairs.  more »

  • Loved the history that we were able to learn about. Great Memorial Day Activity for the family. I also enjoyed the grassy area where we had a picnic with my wife and kids. Very nice and beautiful immediate surroundings.
  • I love battleships. The Texas is undergoing some major repairs right now. This boat seems a bit smaller than the USS North Carolina and the USS New Jersey. If you love Texas and you're taking the history tour from San Antonio to Houston and parts elsewhere, then you have to stop in and see the battleship
  • This ship is awesome and surrounded by a nice park where I had a relaxing walk. Best is to visit in the early morning. Right now and for the next 18 months there will be some major refurbishment works ongoing, so mind that many areas of the ship will not be accessible. Still is totally worth the visit and the employed are super friendly
  • This was a beautiful visit and it was as cool for the adults as it was for the kids. Bathrooms are outside in the park, not on the ship. There is a little snack shack outside as well. Picnic tables are available in the surrounding park area. Parking was a little skimpy, but we went during spring break and there were some buses there too. Anyone 6'1" or taller will need to watch their heads in some places inside the ship. There are many exhibits inside the ship (down below), as well as the obvious decks outside with artillery the kids (and adults) can climb on or inside of. Spend at least an hour and take your time. Lots to see inside. Also, friends tell us that they got to camp for the night with their cub scout troop and participate in a hard hat tour. After what we got to see, which was awesome, the cub scout night on the ship must have been even better!
  • Definitely visit here! I came on Tue morning. It wasn't crowded at all. It'll take about 2 hrs to finish the tour. The entry fee is cheap. Parking is free.
