I thought I was a proud Texan already... After visiting the USS Texas and learning so much about this Dreadnought Class Battleship and how it was the most powerful weapon in the world.... well, you can imagine my Texas pride is off the charts! This is a fantastic park to visit. You can feel the history flowing throughout the ship. It's utterly amazing.
Great accessibility around the whole ship. Stairs can be quite steep, so be mindful if you plan to explore. There is limited air circulation but I went on a 100% humidity day with "feels like" 105* temps and it wasn't that bad inside.
A great place of American and Texas History! This ship was at Pearl Harbor and has been around the world. It is an amazing piece of history. Please note it's tight on the tour and you'll be going in confined quarters with steep steps not the best for people with mobility issues or claustrophobia.
This has been one of our favorite places to visit since we moved here 6 years ago. The history of this ship is so fantastic and richly entwined with the era that made this country a super power. You leave wishing you could see more and every time we come back I find something new.
My husband, son and myself visited a few weekends ago. Very cool ship and friendly staff. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is b/c I reminded my husband to show his Military ID to see if he could get a discount. The lady asked if he was retired military. He responded with no, he is a Veteran. She said they give no discounts to Veterans, just retired or active. I thought that was kinda crazy and disrespectful. Not her fault but they should change this policy. He served his country for God sake.
