  • Stopped here and we're pleasantly surprised. Yes, this is a work in progress after a new owner purchased it after years of neglect by the previous owner. Was able to negotiate my son's wheelchair over the grounds pretty easily. Lots of places along the walkway to sit and rest among the plants and flowers. Also there are picnic tables available. Large variety of flowers and plants. Staff was very friendly. Can't wait to see the progress on our next visit to Maui!
  • This place IS open and beautiful. We visited the week of July 4, 2017. The new owners have done a great job restoring the gardens and adding to the experience. So many varieties of plant life as well as animals even a petting zoo for the kids. Yummy treats in the shop has well as fresh fruits from the garden it's self. Well done.
  • This beautiful garden has been re-opened after being closed for 3yrs. In it's second phase of total renovations it is bursting with incredible rare plants and flowers already. A must see!! The Cafe's and gift shop are also open and serving Local greens, pastries, sandwiches and drinks. Local artisans fill their gift shop as well. A great place to stop on your way to or from Haleakala Crater.
  • My wife wanted to go to a botanical garden while we were staying in Maui. She read some reviews about this place having new ownership after not having any maintenance for four years or so. We decided to take a chance. Let me start with saying this place is run down. The gardens need some major work. There were many areas that you can tell have not had any maintenance for a long long time. This all being said we enjoyed our time there, yes there was a lot of plant refuse laying about, but there was no trash. The best part about these gardens is we only saw 4 other people the whole time we were there and didn't feel rushed in any part of walking the grounds. The staff was very nice and gave my kids wish ribbons to tie on the wishing tree before we walked the grounds. When we returned we bought some scones and pastries. Then the woman manning the counter also gave my kids what she called mountain apples. All in all it was a great visit despite not being at 100%. We look forward to coming back on our next trip to see the progress.
  • We were their first customers today for their grand reopening. The chief architect / groundskeeper told me they have spent four years fixing up the garden and all of their work certainly shows. The personnel were as kind as could be. Many interesting and beautiful flowers were blooming. We spent around 1-1/2 to 2 hours walking the clearly marked path. I took many photos. I think it's a worthwhile stop.
