After a period of decline, the area was revitalized, and today it’s a bustling pedestrian mall, dotted with restaurants, bars, and shops. • The place to be if you're visiting. Eats and shopping of all kinds ranging from cafes to Subway to high-end casual dining to 3 level bars with rooftop patios. Great place to start and/or end your day any time of the week.
  • Always a good time and there is usually something (or someone) interesting to see! Perfect place for great food, entertainment, shopping and drinks all within walking radius. Bring the kids, the dog, grandma, your date...there is something for everyone. Parking can be a pain in the butt so I recommend looking on the outer blocks for parking garages. They are usually free in the evenings and weekends!
  • If you are traveling downtown Knoxville. Market Square is a must visit place. There are many shops and eatery's. As well as watering holes such as 'Scruffy City Hall' and others. In the winter there is ice skating there. On saturday morning there is a Farmers market. Sometimes plays are performed there. It is also Either way you look at it - Market Square is the center of downtown activity and is a must visit.
  • Market Square is an awesome place to go with lots of restaurant choices and little cute shops to go in. Unfortunately the one downfall is there are a lot of homeless people hanging out. You might feel less than safe at night even with all the police officers there.
  • Always a fun time. Lots to look at and places to go. There's usually good music as well.
