Love going to Knob State Park to just get away for the weekend. They have a really nice campground that is well kept.
Quiet, clean great place to take photos relax camp canoe enjoy walking hiking and the great outdoors
We spent several nights here recently in our motorhome and had an excellent experience. Check-in was efficient, and the park was well-maintained and lovely. Sites didn't have quite as much privacy as ... read more »
This park is pretty convenient for me, offers some scenic trails for running, only one mountain bike trail (single track, around a 6 mile loop but there's a few alternate trails to mix it up a bit) lots of picnic areas, streams, playground, open areas. Can be a decent spot to hunt morels if you know where to look and you beat the crowds.
Camping there is horrible. If you are you and in your 20's park rangers will just harass you all night and then just sit in you on the dark. Which is creepy and did not make me feel safe. If you're looking to go camping and to have a good time this is not your place they'll nag you the whole time. Worst place I've ever went camping and I'll never go back. If you're young STAY AWAY. I guess being young and wanting to have fun while camping is a criminal act. Not worth giving them my money .
Campsite was pretty flat with room for our large tent. Facilities were adequate. Trails were good for hiking. Would prefer a swimming area but it is not currently set up with one.
The campsites are nice. Very roomy. The facilities are excellent and all of the staff were very friendly. The only reason 3 stars is because of the huge raccoon problem. We had all food put away in the car and still had raccoons trying to get in our tent! One even managed to open the zipper and get in as I was dozing off. If it was just a few that would be fine but it was 5-10 an hour from midnight to 5 a.m. They should really consider doing something to decrease the population.
Stopped by the park as a day trip to rent kayaks to enjoy the day. However, when I arrived I went to the check-in station, where canoes are to be rented from, nobody was around. From the car parked at the check-in station I saw a gentleman who was working on his RV. The man looked up and saw me parked and gave me a glare as if I was trespassing on his land. So assuming I had made a mistake I drove around the campground and to the lake and was glad to see the place was in very good condition. Not having any luck elsewhere I decided to ask the glaring man if he knew where the attendant was. After a few questions and short responses from the man I found out that he was in fact the attendant. From there I was helped as if I was an inconvenience to him for interuppting his RV project. The man didnt seem to know how to work the station either, and scrambled around the station trying to figure out how to check out kayaks. Enjoyed the rest of the day, beautiful park.
