Hackberry General Store, Kingman
(4.6/5 based on 500+ reviews on the web)
Take a step back in time at Hackberry General Store, a former gas station that represents one of the most iconic stops along the famous highway Route 66. Stop by the store on your drive and admire its extensive collection of nostalgia, ranging from old billboards and advertisements to gas pumps and storefront items. Wander the grounds to see a quintessential slice of the famous highway, keeping an eye open for rusting hulks of classic muscle cars and other equipment. Grab a deliberately kitschy souvenir from the store's offerings, many of which feature replicas of its displays outside. Use our Kingman itinerary builder to add Hackberry General Store and other attractions to your Kingman vacation plans.

  • This store is full of Route 66 stuff! Stop by and take a picture with your vehicle in front of the store. There is tons of stuff to look at.
  • Perfect the shot, but this is part of the essential and the shop is full of memories not unpleasant at all in fact that will make you save time (not dollars) on the research of the souvenir that doesn't take too much space in the suitcase. And more that day there was a small rock band making many nostalgic rather than the 1960s.

  • This shop was located facing the passage during the American continent crossing Rt 66, traveled from the middle. There was American antique series storefront, so leave your car and get inside, there is old age. Also the owner of a shop in a little chat, we had took many pictures together.

  • The best about this shop is not the sold (tourist) stuff but the amazing decoration outside. Be sure to make a stop on your way down Route 66.
  • Unfortunately, one of the few things worth visiting on this part of route 66. Lots of the stuff on sale here you can buy in many of the other shops along the way but it's done in a really nice way
  • Great Route 66 stop. Nice people, lots of fun things to look at, and they had original recipe Dr. Pepper last time I stopped in.
  • My pupper, Wilhelm, had a great time playing with the owners dog. Poor thing looked pretty frail, not much to fend on out here in the middle of the desert.
  • They were closed by the time we rolled through there but with the sun going down it made for some beautiful dramatic photos. I saw the gentleman outside doing chores so I complimented him on his store and how great it was. I then thanked him for allowing me to walk around and take pictures. Friendly people. What a great piece of iconic American history.
