  • This is a wonderful wildlife refuge along a beautiful beach. I enjoyed the quiet of the walkway where I saw green heron, stilts, and other birds and wildlife. Informative message boards let you learn ...  more »

  • We went to the boardwalk on Kihei Road South. It is great, Unfortunately, the main park has restricted hours (+ closed on weekends!) and it was muddy when we were there so we cut that short

  • Super windy so be careful if wearing a hat (or sundress, like me). The birds were few but what we did see were very nice. The bird walk was in great shape and the signs were helpful to learn about the wildlife. There were nesting birds. The Oceanside was just a quick walk. Unless your fishing or planning on making a day of it 30 minutes max.
  • The main building is closed until further notice because of an air conditioner problem. The road to the pond is open.
  • Nice & chilled out place for a walk...came across it by accident
  • I thought there would be a place to run--not so much. However, it's an incredible place to take an evening walk. You could walk for miles along the beach. We saw wales breaching!
  • I don't remember why I was able to go here other than for a field trip, but it was amazing. Also, if you are driving along the road and see black and white birds with pinkish legs, those are Hawaiian Stilts. Keep your eyes open for these as this wildlife sanctuary has a lot of birds, but numbers seem to still be dwindling. These sanctuaries are very much needed still.
