A taste of presidential history, Truman Little White House offers guided tours of rooms filled with original furnishings and memorabilia. This house, originally built in 1890 for officers of the local naval base, served as Truman's winter residence for a total of 175 days during about a dozen vacations. Though many of Truman's private possessions still lie scattered about the rooms, he was not the only notable figure to spend time in the house. Thomas Edison lived here during World War I, and presidents John F. Kennedy and Bill Clinton used the house for government functions. The interior is open for guided tours only, but you can walk around the surrounding botanical gardens on your own. Truman's Little White House was a nice place to take in and dive out of the Key West heat. Tour guides were very knowledgeable.

It's life in the early 50s(if your the president!). The grounds are beautiful, the home carefully and lovingly restored. Truly a snapshot of postwar America! Perez. Truman was far from popular when he left office, but he served admirably at one of the most pivotal times in U.S. history. The photos and furniture are amazing the paint, upholstery, knickknacks, and carpets truly bring home the sense that you're in Truman's vacation (!!) home! The Lincoln limousine parked out front gives a pause! No A/C! No power steering!! Its like an Easter Island statue with wheels. Our guide was most informative! Note: you must buy tour to fully access the house! Very informative and thoroughly enjoyable!

I have a great appreciation for history and Presidential libraries and museums etc and love a good history tour like the next person. We attended a large event on the grounds here and although the sprawling grounds were impressive and massive, the tour of the Little White House where Harry Truman spent a number of months out of the years as President, was pretty unimpressive. I am glad it was free and part of this event, otherwise I would of asked for a refund. Yes, you get to see some really cool 1950's era furnishings and hang out where Truman played poker and see his porch and bedroom and even a Presidential podium room etc, where he might of made a speech or two, but what this amounts to is two floors of just, an old house, a wax figure of Truman and a very large gift shop. That is pretty much it, and not much else. I would save your money on this one.

Randi our tour guide was fantastic! She definitely made the tour memorable by knowing her facts. She was very good at presenting information. The house itself was great! The furniture, the history, the stories the walls could tell are amazing. I highly recommend the tour, the museum is also very nice.

We did the VIP tour of the Truman White House. Although we appreciated the significant historical aspect, I didn't feel that it was that much more than the regular tour. However the ride in the presidential automobile was super cool.

This was an amazing tour. I learned so much about Truman and the house is amazing. Our tour guide (I think his name was Edward) was just phenomenal. His knowledge was impressive and his passion for the history was inspiring. This was by far my favorite museum I went to in Key West.
