  • Great place to see and read about a discovered ship wreak full of riches. Very interesting information on how the ships went down and then hundreds of years later hoe they were found.  more »
  • We knew a little about the treasure before arriving but had no idea about the details. Very well done on telling the story and showing the artifacts. Amazing that this haul changed treasure hunting....  more »
  • As scuba divers it was interesting to see the treasure and history that went in to finding the Atocha. Lots of information to be read and a good way to get out of the heat for a bit. I would do it.....  more »

  • Interesting displays document the long search for the Atocha, sunk by a hurricane in 1622. Includes many artifacts salvaged from the ship. Good background about the recovery efforts as well. Well worth the time.
  • I read "Search for the Atocha" when I was a child and have always been excited about Mel Fisher's treasure hunting. So being able to visit the museum was a cool opportunity. Our kids enjoyed the visit. There are a a lot of nice artifacts on display and informative exhibits. The audio tour feature is interesting and informative as well. The staff at the museum were friendly, and the price for admission seemed fair to us.
  • A museum dedicated to the search for sunken treasure and undersea exploration. It's as cool as it sounds. The Mel Fisher story is a fascinating tale of overcoming adversity and the triumph of the human spirit
  • Excellent place, museum of the treasures at the end we went to the jewelry store an a very nice guy show us the coins and gave us a detail explanation, i was able to hold one coin in my hand, also took some pictures of a 60 pound silver bar, and we met the grandson of Mel Fisher, he came out and talked to us , very nice guy. I really recommend this place, people are very friendly.
  • Fantastic museum! The story of Mel Fisher is an incredible lesson about not giving up. The amount of treasure and history is unlike any museum I've been to. Extremely cool to see artifacts with such detailed documentation.
