  • Margo was our guide for our two hour kayak session and was SUPER knowledgeable and extremely mindful of our safety. She had waters, sunscreen and bug spray readily available and made us all feel welcome and comfortable. We had a 14, 12 and 10-year-old and was perfect to have the tandem-kayak option for the two younger ones. They probably would’ve been fine in their own boats but it got pretty hot for the 11am tour, so we’re glad to be able to set their paddle down and just float with their feet cooling in the water. Sunscreen and a hat is a must for me (we trusted my 14-year-old to apply himself and of course didn’t,) and he got fried as you’re under direct sun the whole tour (unless it’s cloudy of course.). With kids would highly recommend an earlier morning tour when it’s not so hot. There was a nice breeze occasionally but going through the quieter mangrove areas there wasn’t a lot of movement. So for us Minnesotans, felt like we were sitting in an oven. Aside from that, it was an incredible experience, educational, memorable and got to see some awesome FL wildlife (stingrays, turtle, birds.) With plenty of opportunities to take pictures and paddle leisurely. The perfect speed for a family of five or anyone wanting to explore FL from the water:) Thanks again to Margo!!!
  • It was a great experience! It takes about an hour to get out there and an hour back, then and hour each for kayaking and snorkelling. Our guide/captain Sarah was great and very knowledgeable. With only six people allowed it keeps it very personal. Definitely worth it!
  • We signed up for this last minute. This is one of the best water trips we have ever taken. Our Captain Sarah was very helpful and knowledgeable about the local ecology. She also gave us some great recommendations for places to eat and visit. Be prepared to laugh a bit too as Sarah is really funny. One of the best joke tellers on the island. Make sure to ask her about how the boat got it’s name, now that really busted my gut.
  • We booked a trip with Eco Tours to kayak through the mangroves after hearing recommendations from others. It was a phenomenal experience! To start with, it was a huge benefit for us that Eco Tours actually picked us up where we were staying and brought us back. My husband had limited kayak experience and I had never kayaked before—this was not an issue. We had Tortuga Jack as a guide, which was great. He is a great guide, although can be a bit talkative; I love dad jokes so it was amusing. We were brought through various areas of the mangroves and provided a lot of information about the sea life, the mangroves themselves, iguanas, and birds. In my mind I had some specific things in mind that I was excited to see, i.e. shark, turtle, or manatee. While we did not see these, it was still a phenomenal experience. There were so many jellyfish but they were gorgeous. We also were able to see coral as we were moving around. This was definitely one of the more exciting experiences we had in Key West.
  • The actual tour was wonderful! Beautiful day, gorgeous scenery, plenty of wildlife, knowledgeble and friendly captian, and quite memorable! However, given that there is projected to be more plastic, by weight, in the oceans than actual life in the not-so-distance future, one would think that a company with the words "Eco Tour" in their name would *NOT* be using single-use plastic containers (water bottles, salad dishes, etc) and utensils during their normal course of business. The tour was wonderful, but the use of plastics left us somewhat sad.
