Misty Fjords National Monument, Ketchikan

4.4
#2 of 9 in Parks in Ketchikan
Visit Misty Fjords National Monument to see snow-capped mountains behind jagged granite cliff walls that were carved by ancient glaciers. The fjords are part of a coastal rainforest area that is often shrouded in clouds and mist, giving the area its name. In the water, watch for orcas, porpoises, sea lions, seals, and salmon. On land, you might see bears, deer, wolves, wolverines, moose, and mountain goats as well as hummingbirds and migratory sea birds. You can only access the remote fjords by floatplane or cruise ship. For the more adventurous, boat drops for kayaking can be arranged. • Beautiful breath taking never forget trip waterfalls look like they fall from the sky cliffs that reach the sky  more »
  • We went to see the fjords in a hidroaviao. The whole region is very beautiful and worth knowing. Is one of the most interesting tours of Alaska. There's a lot of snowy mountains, several lakes, waterfalls and small islands.

  • You go to the fjords in a fast catamaran, circulates through the fjords which is a phenomenon of nature common to all European countries, and is only found on this site in the United States. Impressive to see what the glaciers carved in stone in the past. On the way back you spend next to some very old, written by a few islands with sea lions and hope that the sea is well, very, so much so that scale you offer free pills against seasickness, incidentally, it's worth it.

  • Having traveled to more than 30 countries on every continent, Misty Fjords remains one of the most beautiful places on the planet. Don’t hesitate to go.
  • Gorgeous area to view from a float plane tour.
  • Most beautiful scenery I have ever seen
  • GAWD, spell it right for crying out loud. At least be a LITTLE professional and check your spelling before publishing. QA folks!!! 'Misty Fjords'
  • What a beautiful wilderness area. Something like 2.2 million acres set aside by the US government to remain natural and with no roads. Only way to see is by foot, by boat or by air. This is an amazing place to visit. The mountains are incredible!
