  • My favorite place in the world and so glad it's in my back yard. But I will say, as much as we locals enjoy sharing this beauty with people, we do not appreciate people who do not follow the park...

  • If you love waterfalls - this is one stroll to take! Easy paths to some scenic views. Do not miss Awosting Falls - near the parking lot! Visit when the waters are full so the views are impressive.

  • Minnewaska state park is a beautiful place for a hike. The trails are well kept and clearly marked. The topography of the area is unique. The park is in an area that was carved out as a glacier passed through. Beautiful rock outcrops and special mountain plants are always fun to look at. Just be careful there are rattlesnakes there so be mindful where you walk
  • Nick Connor is a wonderful park ranger who shared many insights about the animals in winter. My hubby and I took his educational program hike on Saturday Feb 12 for animal tracks via Peter Kill and shorter path back to parking. He helped us explore these woods and create beautiful memories. The park itself was gorgeous in winter with icy trails. Micro-spikes are highly recommended . Would definitely return here as the park staff are very sweet and helpful and the nature itself I relaxing. Overall great experience. Thank you Nick Connor.
  • Beautiful views and many different hikes for all to go on. They have an easy loop to walk that's under 2 miles around the lake and has small rocks and pebbles to make it easier to walk on and cuts down on the bugs. We had a group of varying hiking levels and all had a good time walking it, no hands necessary. Nice and breezy even though it was in the 80s when we went, so bringing a windbreaker and a hat is a very good idea. The drive up to the mountain top was a big winding, but also very scenic. Would hike again 👍
  • Serene. Encompassing. Intimate. So much to see and do. Go here if you want to experience nature at its best. Great sights and trails for all levels. Carriage roads make access to scenic points easy, while offshoot trails provide a more intimate hiking experience.
  • Great views. Moderate hike. Very crowded on a Saturday.
