  • The videos, permanent exhibits and temporary exhibits are all worth your time here. Allow at lest two hours for a first visit. I have been here five times this year and I became a member.
  • This museum is an incredible gem. Packed full of history, which is accessible to all ages. The museum brings the Civil War history alive.
  • I was disappointed. The major display is heavy on reading posters with historical facts, fake looking mannequins and costumes, simulated settings that are not very realistic, and a significant lack of...  more »
  • Loved it. Recalling my time at war and the hardships theae soldiers went through was gripping. The movie alone is short, but well worth the $9 admission
  • Very informative place if you are interested in the Civil War. There is a small free section, but the main exhibition that shows a short film cost $9.00 The building sits on a beautiful location right on the shores of Lake Michigan and during the weekends, it had a great farmers market with other vendors as well. There was also a 1800's style sailing ship parked in the river inlet that offered a 90 min sailing tour on Lake Michigan for $20 which seemed like a real bargain. I would have taken it, but I get sea sick to easily :(. A great way to spend a day with the family.
  • Very educational and really cool artifacts and replicas. Love coming here with my dad who is a civil war reenactor.
  • Very nice local treasure. Lots of information if you take the time to read everything offered.
  • Educative, informative, inspiring. Taught me many things about the Civil War and how it impacted ordinary people.
