Swift-Cantrell Park, Kennesaw

4.7
#58 of 187 in Parks in Georgia
Swift-Cantrell Park is fully funded by the City of Kennesaw, though a large percentage of the Park’s patrons do not live inside the city limits. The Swift-Cantrell Foundation was formed to assist the City of Kennesaw in raising funds for the Park’s Capital Improvements so the Masterplan can be achieved without putting the financial responsibility on the city taxpayer.

I wish I could take this park and put it next to my house I love it so much. My family drives 40 miles to come here. The playground equipment is well maintained and clean, there is a skateboard park for kids to enjoy which I think is really cool, and they have a small water area that is newly built. We also love their movie on the green series. I cannot think of a better way to spend a weekend night than to lay on the grass under the stars watching a cool movie with my family. When the movie on the green is happening they do have local vendors offering snacks and drinks. Papa Johns is always there which I love because they are the only one of said vendors that doesn't rape your pockets.

This park is so well designed. They have something for everyone to do here! There is a wide, paved, pathway that wraps around the entire park. If you're a Pokemon Go fan, there are like 18 Poke-stops here. They are right along the trail so it's incredibly easy to level up and the selection of Pokemon is huge. On top of that, they have a skate park, a splash pad, pavilions, open green fields to picnic or fly a kite, playgrounds AND two dog parks. There are cool features like stationary work out equipment (with instructions), free library, and suntan dispensers too. Bathrooms are clean and they have vending machines. It's open until 10pm, which I think is really ate for a public park. The list could probably keep going... Overall, just an awesome park.

Nice paved walking loop(s), playground, skatepark, two dog park areas, picnic/pavilion area, restrooms, green space for recreation, a work out station and a new water splash zone area this year! Parking can be a challenge, but there is an overflow lot at the neighboring elementary school. Entering and exiting the park can also be tricky in high traffic - it is a busy road and there is no traffic light. Occasionally, they do have a police officer directing traffic. People walk, run and stroll with their dogs or little ones on the trails. Not really suited for biking (very heavy foot traffic). You get some skateboarders that decide to use the trail for some reason...a great park to get some exercise, relax and have fun!

This is a great park and one of the few real parks in Metro ATL. Did you know that there's a little water park there now? I didn't. My friend and I were so confused. "Where's the screaming coming from? Why are all these kids wet? THERE'S A WATER PARK!?!" Also, there's a skate park for the skaters and a dog park for the dogs.

Great all around park! So many option to the skate park, multiple play grounds and huge open fields! We love taking our fur kids to the dog park at Swift Cantrell. The open fields provide fun old school activities like kite flying and general play! We use the open field with a long leash to do recall training.
