The oldest Christian Church in Kenai, Alaska. This church was established by Bishop Innokentii Veniaminov who sent Igumen Nikolai Militov as early as 1845.

The main construction of this church is made of local spruce logs under red cedar shipboards painted white. This current structure was built in 1895.

  • It is a blue and white color to breathtaking Russia Orthodox Church. You can go inside during 9-16. The historical district is near the beautiful coast, you can see the ice on the other side.

  • I remember coming here when I was 11 or 12, it was in the summer and the churchyard was full of wildflowers. Fireweed that was knee high, wild daisies, bachelor buttons, sweet peas, wild roses, queen annes lace. Just so many wildflowers.
