  • I set up a private charter with Captain Makai to see the Na Pali Coast at sunset. We were able to charter his new catamaran. We happen to be there on the tail end of hurricane Madelaine and Lester. Th...  more »
  • We have been many times on various islands in Hawaii. Also we immigrated na coast Pali on the, were up on the look and are migrated from there. So, we have booked also boat tour. However: THIS WAS THE BEST TRIP WE EVER IN HAWAII MADE THE PROJECTS! The tour is beautiful. Makai is super nice and explained everything very well while driving. He can go even in caves with his small boat. (Really cool!) The coast looks beautiful from the boat. There are drinks and snacks on board. We were allowed to go snorkeling. Everything's great! Makai is Hawaiian roots and that you notice him. He takes you and shows you his country. Unique and much better than the other impersonal boats with plenty of people on board. Dear Makai: Thank you for a wonderful day! We will never forget you. Sonja & Alex

  • Last I went on a Cruise Tour twice. Sunset tour is the best! Admire the superb view of the Na Pali Coast and finally concluded with a sunset view from the boat. When you come to the island of Kauai, absolutely recommended!

  • Nice captain and crew. We chartered the catamaran for our family. Great way to see the coast at Sunset.
  • Captain Makai made this a wonderful trip!
  • My husband and I wanted to go whale watching while in Kauai, but it looked like a lot of the other outfits were on big boats with a lot of people and included a snorkel trip, which we didn't want. Luckily we were able to find Napali Makai. The boat is much smaller, so you have a more personal experience. We were able to spot a pod of 4 to 5 whales relatively quickly. We continued to spot this pod several times during our excursion. We loved our experience with Captain Makai and would definitely use him again. Highly recommended for anyone who wants a smaller boat with a more personal experience.
  • What was so nice about the Napali Makai tour was the fact that we got to choose where and what we did! We had done the cookie cutter "Big Boat" tours in the past and really only got a glimpse of the coast. After Makai, we now feel like we've truly "Experienced" the coastline. Best trip ever! Thank you!
  • I have been on one of the big boat cruises up the Napali coast. It came complete with canned speeches & bad food & distant views. This is the opposite --You will connect with nature. Makai will answer any question communicating his deep knowledge of the ocean and the mountains. He is attentive and can sense what you want. Go by your self, or charter the boat -- it is all good. Your $ and time is better spent on the ocean than in a noisy helicopter flying around for an hr. I tried that too.
