  • We enjoyed our visit to this historic place and the small museum and outdoor exhibits. The movie that they played in the visitor center was great and put it all in a kind of understandable perspective...  read more »
  • visitor center has good exhibits with short film. Grounds include a rebuilt stockade, covered wagon, and sod house.
  • The campground is very nice, but the staff is very unprofessional! Was told by the staff to go find a spot and then come back to pay once settled in. SO... When I found a spot I dropped off some of my belongings and kids/dog. When I returned after filling up with water the staff showed up and told us they were kicking us out of our spot because someone didn't get their reserved spot at Windmill state park. Why that was my problem I don't know, but now they have two upset visitors rather then one! So much for first come first serve policy! Nice job staff!!
  • A great family experience for all ages. These places are disappearing all over the country because of funding and vandalism so make sure you at least do it once to say you've been there! I grew up around here so it's special to me!
  • This park is so nice and quiet. Nice camp area, multiple little ponds, walkways, very clean. We found it accidentally and I hate to rate it....I want to keep it all to myself. This has a viewing site where the sand hill cranes come in. We paid $20 to camp and $7 for the day pass. A lot of walking trails. This is our 2nd time here. There is fishing too.
  • It's a great thing to do on a weekend. Do it during the crane migration period. visit the spots during sunrise and sunset for breathtaking views of giant flocks of birds.great sites for wildlife photography enthusiasts as well.
  • Fort Kearney is a great place to learn about settling the west. The exhibits here are well kept and very informative!
