Ke'e Beach, Kauai
Categories: Beaches, Nature & Parks, Outdoor Activities
With its clear sea, greenery, and marine life, Ke'e Beach offers everything you would expect from a tropical paradise. According to the legend, the beach was the birthplace of hula dancing. You can hike coastal trails, swim, and watch the sunset here. Don't miss the opportunity to put on your snorkeling gear so you can see the colorful reef fish. The beach facilities include restrooms and showers, as well as a parking area. Due to the beach's popularity, finding a parking space can be tricky. Keep in mind that the beach is occasionally exposed to high surf that generates strong current; swimming and snorkeling during those times can be very perilous. And they give every day. The parking area is very difficult for cars that are not of the jeep. The holes and rocks can break your rental car. Once the parking is paid, must enjoy the beach to swim with a few fish and walk on the beach to get a good view of the Napali coast. Most of the people are the Kalalau trail in the morning and then make the beach. As parking is a luxury, I want to wait for the sunset which is beautiful. Shower and toilet on site, but not the food. If you arrive around a half hour before sunset you should be able to find a parking slot. On a cloudless day it's not uncommon to see the green flash.

My favorite beach in the world! Compact, but absolutely perfect in every way. Not only is the climate perfect (most of the time!), but it has a scenic mountain range with a challenging hiking trail behind it. The beach is good for snorkeling, with a fair amount of coral reef to attract fish, urchins, eels and more. And the outer part of the beach break is good surfing in the winter.
My entire family loved this beach because we can swim and snorkel. It should be called snorkel beach. Water is clear and calm, there are no waves, so we did not have to worry about surfers, or boogie boarders, or my kids getting knocked out by a wave. Life guard house with life guards are present, as well. And they mark off the areas they want us to snorkel in so they can keep us safe... Parking area is busy but we found a spot within 5min. Walked 4min to the sand. I have small girls and find it hard sometimes to keep them protected when waves are crashing on them trying to play on the shore line. This beach, allowed me to relax and just watch them all have fun.
Great Sunset Spot. If you arrive around a half hour before sunset you should be able to find a parking slot. On a cloudless day it's not uncommon to see the green flash.
This beach is awesome, just go in the water after a long hike and cool off. Then turn around and be amazed at the backdrop here, it's jaw dropping. Well worth the drive up!
Small beach but a good place to cool off after hiking. Some coral and fish, saw my first sea turtle here.
