  • This is a review of the ABC store in the Coconut Marketplace - not yet listed but it opened in May 2016. ABC stores are well known to visitors to Hawaii and, like most tourists, I’d make a stop there for things like macadamias and beer. Yes, they can be significantly more expensive than other markets – for example, on this visit a 5 oz. bag of Boulder Canyon chips was $5.69, and a 6-pack of Kona beer was $11. But the selection is decent for the size of the store and the staff members are usually friendly. However, for environmental responsibility I’m giving ABC 1/5 green stars because I was horrified to see that they had coffee for sale in Styrofoam cups. Yep, Styrofoam, as in expanded polystyrene, the kind of plastic that’s non-recyclable, and fly-away light… just waiting to find its destination in the ocean 100 yards away. ABC: please replace your cups – I know paper cups are not ideal either (lined with plastic), but they are a lot better than polystyrene. Considering the huge garbage problem in the Pacific Ocean and on Hawaiian beaches (like Kamilo) I would have thought ABC would have more respect for the ocean.
  • 3 stars since they are under an extensive reconstruction. Half of the shops were redone and now the other half is being redone. New ABC store and other small shops as well as one of the few places you can rent full face snorkel mask.
  • Some okay local shops, but the only thing that stands out here is the Pizzeria. However, the area is currently being rennovated so expect improvements as more things go in.
  • April 2015 visit - Happened on to the small farmers market at Coconut Mall. The vendors were nice to us tourist explaining what everything was and giving samples. Everything was very fresh. We especially liked the man that was opening coconuts. He had a great coconut story and had my 5 and 6 year old girls captivated. Bevause of that hey each drank their entire coconut water and loved chewing on the coconut as we drove.
  • Small, not much shops, has alot of potential to be something really nice
