  • Kansas City (which, by the way, is not in Kansas, and the neighboring state of Missouri) was at one time nicknamed the "city of fountains", and for good reason: they are numerous and diverse. The biggest accumulation of fountains — in the heart of the city and on the Parkway on the border of Wade of Kansas and Missouri; but the most famous is located on the territory of the (beautiful) Country Club Plaza shopping center. • Ever notice how there are no photos of the Firefighters Fountain from 31st Street, except from directly in front. Very little of the fountain can be seen while driving down the street. That is because the view is completely obscured by hideous overgrown shrubs. Thousands of cars pass by the fountain every week but the opportunity to see and enjoy it, for the most part, is lost behind this screen of greenery. It is wonderful that new renovations are coming soon to this well respected and important fountain. I can only hope that someone will realize that the beauty and great location is being lost due to poor landscaping. Contributions might be more forthcoming if more people were actually able to see the fountain.
  • Beautiful monument for a noble cause.
