Embrace your family's creative side at Kaleidoscope, an arts and crafts center for kids. Operated by Hallmark Cards as a way to recycle its paper, ribbon, crayons, and other products, the venue is packed with leftover manufacturing materials from their famous cards. Use the supplies to create collages, puzzles, mobiles, and various other artistic works. The center provides glue, pens, glitter, and much more, so all you need to bring is your ideas. This crafty fun takes place in organized sessions, so make sure to check for times beforehand. Admission is free.  Plan to visit Kaleidoscope and other customer-reviewed, writer-recommended Kansas City attractions using our Kansas City vacation generator.

  • This is an amazing place to take children, as well as adults. Not only are the activities free of charge, there are so many great things that you can create and take with you at no cost. Hallmark card...  read more »
  • A fabulous place for children to explore and be creative. A great way to have fun and not spend a dime.
  • We took my 1 year old son here for an afternoon and he had a blast! There are lots of rooms set up for kids to play and learn. We will go back for sure!
  • This place spawns creativity in young and old. Lots of materials and ideas to engage everyone in making cards, puzzles, and other artwork. Also, little play areas for self expression with child's video image cast to the wall. With a session time limits, kids stick to tasks & catch the art bug quickly. Of course, Kaleidoscope sometimes gets crowded although each session has a maximum number of participants. You can pick up a free admission ticket early and check out at the Hallmark Visitors' Center next door until time for your session. It's a cool place to visit, also.
  • Worth doing. Some cool stations for kids to create art. My sons favorite part was creating his own puzzle. All free!!
  • This is a great place to bring kids of all ages! The staff is so friendly, helpful, and accommodating.
  • Super fun! Took four kiddos from aged 2-9 and all four had a really good time. The only downside was it was only 40 minutes, they could have really used another 10-15 to get to do all of the stations, but they really enjoyed the time they had. They are very excited to get to go again!
  • Great place for kids to color, paint, and create things. Best part of all is that it's free.
